the margin of victory. I thought it would be close no matter who won.

I really did think Deming could pull this one out.

Deming is young.

Wow, this is a totally different team than the one that played CCHS

Deming is young.

Young grade wise, but not experienced wise. Their two best players, the King brothers are sophomores, but they have been starting since they were 7th graders. So, I don't think I would chalk this up to a young Deming team. I picked them as well, I think it's just that Brossart has came to play. Credit deserves to go Brossart and Coach Code's way in a very impressive win.

Deming needs better defensive pressure, you can't leave any Brossart team open for threes. When you have the biggest kid on the floor on your team, then feed him the ball. They need to utilize Grause more in order to beat better teams. These areas must be improved before tourny time. They were also playing without Rex Schalch tonight. He usually gives the team a spark coming in as the 6th man. The game was a little closer than the score appears. They kind of gave up at the end and let Brossart have some easy shots.

One word missing here - DEFENSE!

"Brossart has come to play DEFENSE."

Deming came in tonight averaging 72 ppg.

Mustangs hold them to 40.

You will get no argument from us on this point.

Brossart jumped out to a 16-5 first period lead after one and the two teams played pretty much even up through halftime.

Deming outscored the Stangs 7-0 out of the locker room at halftime, making it a 29-24 Mustang lead and momentum in a Black Devil uniform, until Jordan Armstrong nailed a "3" to stop the bleeding. Brossart was able to then push it out to a 10 point, 38-28 lead after three.

Deming cut it again to six at 38-32 before Rieger scored a layup, and Webb stole the inbound pass and scored an encore basket. Game, set, and match - Mustangs.

We consider Deming an extremely dangerous foe, and cannot allow the final score of this one to impair our judgement of their ability to beat us. Round one goes to the Mustangs, BUT it was only a battle. The war will be possibly be won or lost in mid-January at Nicholas County High School.

Box Score: BB: Patterson 0-0-0/1-0, Armstrong 0-2-0/0-6, Webb 2-2-2/4-12, Morscher 0-1-0/0-3, Kremer 8-0-0/0-16, Rieger 7-0-3/5-17, Wolfer 1-0-0/0-2, Dierig 0-0-2/2-2

Totals BB: 18-5-7/12-58 5-1 1-0

D: KKing 6-0-2/2-14, LKing 5-0-1/2-11, Mitchell 2-1-0/0-7, Caldwell 1-0-0/2-2, Grause 2-0-2/2-4

Totals Deming: 16-1-5/8-40 5-1

Half to agree that they must utilize Grause inside a little more. Surprised why Schalch wasn't there unless it was because of illness.

The Kings never started as 7th graders let alone even dressed varsity. They did play j.v. their 7th grade year. They were the 6th and 7th man on varsity their 8th grade year and started j.v. Last year as Freshman were the first time they started varsity.

Schalch has a broken hand, thats the reason he is out. Did Coach Code decide to shake hands after the game?

Worse game of lack-of-team ball I've seen this year from Deming. Got to establish an inside game and have to learn to see the floor and the open people. That is not happening! Got to improve before tournament time or for the rest of the season or suffer. Deming has only five players that can be scorers and they have to realize that they have to use each one or they can't win. Three players can't beat five.

Its called inside out BALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get it in and then the outside will open up. It has to be 2 way street.

Why would he not?
