I get to work late tonight, drive up to Warsaw either late-late tonight or early in the morn on short sleep. Then, we get to drive into this:

 

Caution: Travel nightmare ahead

 

My dad says, "Oh, it'll be no problem. They'll have it cleared by the time we get up there."

 

I reply, "They're talking sleet and ice across central Illinois and Indiana."

 

"We'll do it; no problem," he said.

 

If you ever want to know why I'm messed up, it's because our family's traditional idea of a vacation was a white-knuckle drive up I-74 to Iowa. In the winter. Ahh, they meant well ... :lol:

I'm not going:dancingpa.. But we are going Friday so I'm hoping its a bit warmer then!

It's was so cold that our furnace went out last night about 9:30. But they came and fixed it about 10 this morning. Good thing for electric heaters. We had they dogs in bed to keep them warm, No we used them for heat. It took the house 4 hours to warm up.

We ended up wrapping the kids up in blankets and putting them in our laps asleep last night on the way to my parents. They both slept though the drive and the night at my parents. Went over this morning and knew there was a problem with our emergancy heat. It was too cold for the reagular to work so the emergancy should have kicked on. Have a family member that does heating/a.c stuff. He came over today and the idiots that did our house never even wired up the emergancy heat. He hooked us up but the temp had dropped below 30 in the house so it's been warming up all day. Hopefully this is the last night with all of us staying at the parents. Makes me really feel awful for the homeless and folks with no family/friends to lean on!
