Early Candidates for Mr. Basketball

Featured Replies

Mosley has bounced around to different high schools but now is back playing in KY and probably has the most talent in the state. He doesn't have the size but he can score from anywhere on the floor and is easily the quickest player in the state. If he can get his head screwed on right, I could easily see him playing division 1 basketball somewhere. Whether he goes JUKO and transfers or picks up some offers this year, if he stays out of trouble he should play division 1 ball somewhere.

Mosely will go D1. Already has some offers. He has already qualified on his ACT score. He may be a basketball lobo but the kid is special on the offensive end. No one's been quicker in Louisville since Rondo was running the point at Eastern. One of the top 5 OFFENSIVE players in the state hands down, but has to learn there are two ends of the floor. However he won't get any attention for Mr. Basketball. He may lead the state in scoring, should be all-state, and if he gets invited he WILL BE a Ky all-star for the KY-IN series. Go watch the kid play; you'll enjoy it.

Jon Hood... Try and gaurd his mid range jumper!

I will never get to try and guard his jumper, but I will get to say he will be MR.Basketball. He is livin the dream baby!!!!

While Jenkins is a very good shooter, I'll take this one over anyone in the state.

If you say that they might be than more than likely they're not. Well I'll just make this simple for everybody. Russ Middleton is the second best player in the region. And you could argue he is the best. He was a vital piece of Mason County's run last year. Miller getting his 30 didnt kill you. It was Middleton getting his 20 or so on top of it. Clark County thought so highly of him that they put their best defender and player on him in the region finals in 2007 and it was truly the difference in the game. I say he's second because I think that Stenzel might be a little more consistent with his shot. And because he plays for GRC!! And Zollo right now shouldnt be in the discussion of best in the region.

I agree....i rank middleton around 3rd or maybe inching towards 2nd in the tenth. My original point was just saying that he's not a Mr. Baskeball candidate IMO. Last time I checked, my opinion had no bearing on the decision.

I can't wait to see him in blue and white.

On another note I didn't know Jenkins had all those offers, quite impressive.

Ferguson is as good as anyone in that state and the BEST shooter and scorer in the state, IMO. His numbers alone make him a legit canidate.

I agree Eric Mosley will make himself known.

Do we really want to debate who the top shooter in the state is?

Jon Ferguson, IMO.:thumb:

Riley of Holmes is 14 for 15 from behind the arc this year and 20 for 25 overall....I'd say you can't talk about the best shooter in the state without including his name. He would take way more shots but he's a PG and has 3 High D1 players around him in Pittman and the Johnson Brothers, so he doesn't need to.

Ask Scott Co and their fans...they'll tell you who they think the best shooter in the state is...:sssh:

I would say if he is that good a shooter it wouldn't matter who is around him he should shoot more. Being that good if he shot more you might have beat Tate's Creek. With 3 high D1's around him I know he isnt drawing no where near the best defender. The level of defender one draw's would have to be taken in to consideration when being

touted as a great shooter.:thumb:

The Scott Co fans I Called and asked..Said they didnt know about the whole state but in the Holmes/Scott Co game it was Ge'Lawn Guyn. I guess everyone has their own opinion.

All the players listed here for consideration(Hood will get it) are very good. I have noticed though someone always has to knock the Ferguson kid and try to say he dont belong whatever the thread is. I have watched him play several games in last six years

and he is one of the most consistent I have saw. I have watched him in the summer playing top comp in Texas, Florida, Mississippi, Arkansas, Ky, Cinncy, Indiana, Ohio,

Virginia, etc. etc. Also watched him against weak 16th region teams, # 1 in Ky team,

out of state teams alll over the nation. I hope you have gotten the point by now. There is one thing that he does...... that is Fill up the stat sheet. He is a terrific Scorer as his coach stated...he just simply finds a way. He is deadly from 25 feet in(see post 65 youtube link he is 8-14 on this shot in past two seasons) or can penetrate and score inside against taller opponenets. He gets several rebds steals asst every game. Will he win MR Basketball.....probably not. Is he a legit player in the state of Ky....YES

Everyone has a great opinion. Look forward to watching all the players next year playing big-time D1 basketball.
