Raceland Baseball 09

Featured Replies

I dunno Coupon, I have heard from some very good sources that Rister transfering to Raceland is pretty much a done deal. Seems like the Musketeers just keep losing their good athletes to the Rams....puts a little more fire into the county rivalry!
I say Junior Matt Jones could fill Rister place if Jones wants to play football.:flame: I doubt Rister is going anywhere.

I thought this was a baseball thread anyway.

We could get a coach that would concentrate on baseball as well, BUT our coach choose to do both, why do you think we can't keep good assistants? Because they go to places that are willing to work on BASEBALL! Why do you think that we hired another FOOTBALL COACH to help with BASEBALL instead of getting someone who works onBASEBALL? I know that several other teams in the area are already conditioning and working out to get in shape, BUT our boys can't even get gym time to run or lift!!!!!!!!WHY?????????Why doesn't our BASEBALL program get any help???????I see tax dollars going to the school system as a hole!!!By admission the school puts forth more effort to football, so if we are not going to give baseball as much effort why waste the boys time?

pickoff, I say if you have a problem with Coach Vanderhoof or how he is running the program, then why don't you call him and ask to speak to him. I know he would be more then willing to have a civil conversation with you about baseball, football, or any other topic that you wish.

But, what I doubt he will do, is get on the internet and bad mouth you, no matter if he agrees with you or disagrees with you, I bet he is man enough to tell you his feelings to your face. Not in public when you are not around.

I have his number, address, and directions if you need them.

This is part of the problem with coaching in high school today, everyone calling or talking to them about what they don't like. If he's not doing the job then he should be fired otherwise let people just voice their opinions in a forum. They do have that right.

No doubt, Matt is and always has been one the best all around athletes in that class. Was a great QB when I had him in sixth grade....Now back to Raceland Baseball, Who will fill Martins shoes? That is alot of hits and speed to make up for.

Yea, they have that right, but I guess there are two kinds of people in the world, those you complain and never resolve anything, and those you who go to the source and work out differences.

As for talking to coaches, I have to disagree with you. I think the problem with coaching in high school today is, people don't let the coaches coach, they second guess them and create division among programs which makes coaching a lot harder.

Vanderhoof is a very good football, baseball, and basketball coach, he is a great person who has dedicated a large part of his life to the Raceland school system. Some people are going to have except that he will be at Raceland, in what ever capacity that he wants, for as long as he wants. That is the way it is, and that is the way it should be. He has helped the Raceland community much more then it has helped him. The Administration understands loyalty, I just wish everyone did.

Raceland should be honored, to have Coach Vanderhoof at the helm. I have known him for numerous years and first class, does not do him justice. One of the best men and overall positive influence, to young people I know.

He does a lot for the Ram community and school. At most schools, getting gym time as you say is difficult, for non basketball programs. Many programs will have players, who are dedicated and working on their own.

Coach Hall left to work at Morehead State and replacing him, will not be easy. Finding those coaches willing to put in the time, have them offer their services.

I would think Raceland major concern would be pitching this year. What do you guys think?

Whatever happened to Scott Grizzle after graduation?

Believe he attended KCU, on a Football scholarship and then left for Georgetown.

I agree, Coach Hoof is a class act. My son started for the Rams since 7th grade. I'll admit, I always said Raceland never give enough time or money towards the baseball program. But I would never give the blame to Coach Hoof. It's hard to get all players together early when so many of them play 2 and 3 sports. But here's what I personally think when it comes to conditioning. If you play one sport and one sport only, there isn't any reason for conditioning. If you can't get yourself ready for your sport, the blame lies completly on you. If you want it bad enough, you'll get out and condition on your own. Don't blame everbody else for not being ready when the season arrives!:thumb:

RAM, What I said was there are people out here that would help, have helped and continue to help but when you replace someone like Drew Hall with a football coach when there are other people available I think there is a problem!!!!!!!!!!I think Randy is a GREAT person and does a lot for the Hole area, But the people that play BASEBALL are getting SHORT changed! We have good baseball people out here in our area that is willing and ready to help IF THEY WERE ASK! I have talked to coaches and other people(ADMIN) about this BUT nothing has Happened! SO with that being said for YOU to say what you DID is WRONG maybe YOU should LOOK at BASEBALL as a sport as you do football! Tim Nelson was available and said at one time he would LOVE to come here and HELP and the ADMIN and Coached were told be nothing did or has happened! I would LOVE to See BOBBY TRIMBLE help with the team! Anyone with BASEBALL Knowledge and knowhow will be a help! The more the better! I think the deal with the football coach replacing Drew, with other people being available, not saying we don't want his help because we do just replacing Drew??????

I believe that so-called football coach played 4 years of college baseball.
