Steelers 13 Ravens 9

They way the ref announced after the review he never even mentioned the ball crossing the plane, he just said the receiver had possession with 2 feet in the endzone so it was a touchdown. The announcers didn't know what the rule was either because one was talking about the plane and the other was talking about both feet touching. Clarification is definitely needed here...

I agree! I would love to see the Rule Book!

Eh kind of.. Just a football fan really..

I don't like when I cheer for team I dislike too, but sometimes it happens...:D

Pittsburgh defense shows that they are the better of the two. Held Baltimore to 202 yards on the day. Extending their streak to 14 games without allowing 300 yards.

The feet have nothing to do with it. If so, you would have to land in the end zone when you dive over the top of the pile on a goal line plunge or leap.

I thought it was very close on that play. I was surprised they overturned the call. Had the initial call been a TD, I am not sure there was enough to overturn the call on the field that it wasn't a TD. The ball did break the plane, but I am not sure he had possession when it did. As soon as it touched his hands, he was drilled out the end zone by Reed (I believe it was Reed). Very close call.

This was a GREAT game. IMHO, the 2 best defenses in the NFL battled it out and only 1 TD for the entire game, and that was on a borderline call. This type of defensive battle is just as exciting to me as a 49-48 type of game. Big Ben and the Steelers just seem to find a way to win. In the past 3 games, they have outscored their opponents 37-0 in the 4th quarter. That is hard core. Big hits from both team.

My guess is that in the near future, the footballs will have a chip embedded in them for calls such as these. It may tie in to your challenges and cost you a timeout if you're wrong, but I bet we'll see that someday. GPS will determine if the ball breaks the plane.

As crazy as that sounds... I wouldn't be surprised.

I'm just saying that everyone was confused. I didn't know if it could be an either/or type of thing with both feet or if the ball breaks the plane.

The Steelers seem to be finding ways to win these tough, close games.

Because they are the best team in the AFC, and, IMO, the best team in the league right now.

They're most likely looking at the #1 seed and home field advantage throughout the playoffs...

...thanks to Jeff Fisher's inexplicable decision to forego a 49-yard FG attempt yesterday.

I think Pittsburgh is better than Tennessee regardless...but the Titans have zero chance of beating the Steelers without Haynesworth in the lineup (especially with Vanden Bosch still out or struggline with a groin injury).

I think the Titans best move is to be satisfied with the #2 seed and sit those guys and try to get them as healthy as possible for the post-season, because they're not going anywhere without them. If Haynesworth can't come back the Titans season is over. They'll lose their opening playoff game in Nashville...

^Proves nothing. That's not where he caught the ball.

I hate Baltimore, but that was not a TD. First, I never saw any view where it looked like the ball crossed the plane. But, that's beside the point...

1. The call on the field was down inside the one...

2. There was certainly nothing conclusive to overturn that call...

But it doesn't matter to me...I'm 99% certain Pittsburgh would have won that game even if they hadn't gotten that call. They'd have either punched it in...or kicked a FG and won in OT. And, I'm glad they did, because I hate Baltimore. :D
