Alot closer than I thought it would be with Manual missing Jenkins and Trinity having two D1 players out on the court. (Sewell and Harrison)

Manual played a good game and had solid performances by a gutsy point guard in Sean Samsel and also a lift by Tre Jones. Melvin Little was the difference for Trinity.

Harrison is D1 already as a Frosh?..... Lets not get too crazy folks. I agree he has potential and is very good for his age but give him a year or two. Sewell is a solid player and has great D1 potential, I will give you that. Looks like Boone Co will have their hands full with Trinity in the Lex CAth Holiday opening round.

Trinity is picked 6th or 7th in the Seventh Region and that is about right. It wasn't a pretty game, but it was hard fought. Harrison has a ways to go yet which is true about any freshman.

Kind of surprised Trinity was able to pull this out, but without Jenkins, that explains a lot. Sewell is a nice player as is Harrison.

Manual had talent on the floor and could easily pulled this game out tonight with a few breaks at the end. I guess after the 36-point loss and Jenkins' 38 this summer, Trinity was going all out tonight. Still a very good showing for Manual in this game even if it was just short of winning.

Why do you keep bringing the summer game up? Everybody on here knows that Jenkins scored 38 and they won by 36.:sleep: It is December now.

I have met Little and Sewell. Both seem to be great kids. Sewell is related to Wesley Cox at Ballard, on his Mom's side, I think. (The UL Wesley Cox from the mid-70s is one of my all-time favorite players.)

Agree Jenkins absence makes a big difference but I would also argue that Trinity could play A LOT better than they did last night(letting a 12 point halftime lead get away with poor third quarter play) so I wouldn't be putting a W in the books quite yet if they happen to meet again.

 

And the player of the night for Maunal wasn't Samsel, it was Nickoloc. Really played well inside getting himself into postion to score!

Nikolic played a very good game. He was finishing shots he had struggled with before. He's improving and that's a great sign for the months ahead. But where do you think the majority of the passes were coming from? Samsel helped keep this game in reach.
