Dayton 65 Lloyd 59

Featured Replies

Were you there, directly across from the ref who had just sealed the game? No you were not. I, along with about twenty other people in the student section saw it. It's not like he even tried to hide it. He did it clearly and everyone saw it.

So what do you think his "thumbs up" indicated?

In the first post it sounds an awful lot like you weren't at the game. In the second post it sounds like you were... hmmm....

Dayton never chest bumped after the foul shots. I don't know what the student sections chanted because I actually was paying attention to the game... But any chant about a football game would probably have been induced by a "Lets play football" chant, which is drawing the attention away from the basketball issue at hand anyways. And as far as student sections go anyways Lloyd shouldn't have much to say theirs is one of rudest crudest most inappropriate in NKY and everyone that plays there knows it. When you bring a student section into someone elses house you know that you are walking on eggshells so they should have been prepared.

And where are these much better teams that they put the great numbers up against?

Dec 2, 08 Spencer County home 65 - 50 (W) no

Dec 5, 08 Villa Madonna away 82 - 67 (W) no

Dec 12, 08 Dayton away 59 - 65 (L) no

Dec 13, 08 Oldham County away 45 - 59 (L) no

Where are the much better teams? Spencer County? They start a few freshmen and an 8th grader. Villa? The biggest one man band in NKY? Unless the KHSAA scoreboard is wrong thats all the games they've played. Seems like they have lost to two better teams and beat two inferior teams....

Sorry but its sounds like you don't really know when to give credit when credit is due. Everyone on here has said that Lloyd didn't play bad, but Dayton played better...

Ok where do you get off on saying Lloyd's student section is one of the worst? How about any of Dayton's student sections football or basketball? They are the rude and crude you speak of. I wonder where they learn that behavior from? Most likely the parents who sit up in the stand and do the same thing. Like Dayton's band who played extra lound during the football season while the team they are playing has the ball? That injury to Brendon put him out for the rest of the football and the basketball season as well. He was probally the best 3 sport athlete in NKY and you are bragging you hurt him? So look at Dayton's student section before you start bashing ours.

I don't have to give credit to Dayton because they are not a better team than Lloyd im sorry. Lloyd had an off night even though thats not an excuse cause thats not what goes into the record books.

It was not being used as saying "Great job guys." It probally was used to say "How did you like that?" but thats just my opinion.

Is it true that Lloyd got T'ed up twice for a chest bump? If so is it also true that after they shot the foul shots that dayton boys chest bumped?

I also heard that the Dayton student section chanted "Where is Brendon" referring to Lloyd QB that blew out his knee in the football season against Dayton.

Maybe you forgot that you brought the student sections into this conversation, which has absolutely nothing to do with basketball. And to bash players/students upbringing is absolutely ridiculous. Because the Lloyd student section made racist comments towards our Pakistani player a few years ago means that those students parents are also racists? I'm not sure I completely buy that. Sure these kids parents have a great influence on their lives, but high school kids will do and say as they please when not around their parents and I don't believe you condemn a childs parents everytime they misbehave. If both student sections are getting this much talk on here then they are obviously doing thier job of getting in the other team's heads, but for arguements sake can you stick to the actual basketball game?

I'm not here to argue student sections... Or football season.... For the record, Dayton doesn't even have a football student section. And the band issue is far run its course...

I'm not bragging about anything. I wasn't in the student section, nor do I know what they said. I said that when you bring a student section in to someone elses house, don't be surprised at what you hear.

And as far as the student section comment goes. What the crowd says should have no effect on the outcome of a game. But it clearly did. After the ref called 2 tecnicals on Lloyd in the same play, he looked at the student section and gave US the thumbs up. And how did he call 2 technicals on Lloyd for a chest bump, when during the entire game, the Dayton players were jumping off the bench and what not. And yes, after Dayton made their free throws at the end of the game, two players from Dayton did a chest bump.

This is really getting ridiculous now, and I'm sure this thread will be shut down soon anyways, but that really is funny. You really think that one of the higher ranking officials in the ninth region let a student section con him into making a call? And that they "gave" the game to Dayton, when Dayton had led the entire game by as much as 14 or 15 points?

C'mon... Think about what your saying...

Oh, and about the Dayton bench, I guess they are supposed to sit there and not get excited about things. They didn't ever leave the bench. All the did was jump up and down and get excited for their team. Thats what good teams do...

So what do you think his "thumbs up" indicated?

I think it meant like a "that's just for the student section". I really think if the Lloyd students weren't so loud and obnoxious, the refs wouldn't have called half the fouls they did.

No I wouldn't expect any team to do that. But how could a ref make the call that he did? Lloyd came back and was within 2, and all they did was a chest bump. 2 T's for a chest bump? Especially since They were trailing the whole game. And for them to come back, and have that call made.... Come on now even the people from Dayton I know agreed with me about the officiating. This is my last post about this game. But do you honestly think that if this game was played at anywhere but Dayton they would have won? I know 90 percent of the calls made all night would't have been called anywhere else Even if you're biased about the whole situation, and you are a fan of Dayton, it was obvious that the refs "gave" them the game.

For the record, Lloyd lost to a very young WV team tonight. hmmmmmmm

Let me ask ya something real quick. Have you ever been in a pre game "captain's meeting" at half court as a captain, coach, or official? Every game begins with one and the officials pull out a small green card and read directly off of it. Part of the statement includes quote "...any acts deemed unsportsmanlike such as taunting, baiting or trash talking will be immediately assesed with a technical foul. This is your final warning." I will go back to what I said in one of my first post. It wasn't the best officiated game, but at least it was consistantly bad on both sides. Where the game was played had nothing to do with the calls that were/weren't made. If the game was at Lloyd, would they have called more holds in the backcourt when Lloyd had two hands on? No. Bottom line, they (Lloyd) were outplayed for all of the game minus about a three minute stretch. They would have been if this game was played at Dayton, at Lloyd, or at the Chinese Embassy. Doesn't matter. They were outplayed.

There is nothing more to argue here...

Must have been another off night...;)

I didn't see a thread on the Oldham County, Lloyd game. What was the final score?

Thanks for the help everyone.

LOL nice post:thumb:

Wasn't much of a game. Oldham bolted to an early 12-1 lead and was never seriously threatened in cruising to a 14 point win. I haven't seen Lloyd except in that game, but they seemed uninspired that night, which wasn't what I expected, since they had just lost to Dayton the night before.

I'm sorry but they should have NEVER lost to Dayton. Lloyd played like crap but that is no excuse. Seriously look at the numbers they normaly put up against much better teams then look at what they did that game. :jump:

Shoot dude, Dayton is good this year.
