True....the kids should decide the game and in this case, while it was an unfortunate call, the kids still did decide the game. The team that won was ahead the entire game and played the better overall game that night. As far as "home court" officiating, I believe 9th region officials are assigned to all locations, not picked by the home team:irked: Give credit where credit is due. Good win Dayton!

An especially good win for Dayton when you take into consideration that Lloyd has 7 seniors that get quality minutes and Dayton has none in its current rotation. You would think that the technicals would have gone to the less experienced team and the foul shots made by the more experienced team.

 

I am not saying that the technicals were deserved because I was not at the game, but I would expect a senior laden team to have better control of their emotions when the game is on the line.

Is it true that Lloyd got T'ed up twice for a chest bump? If so is it also true that after they shot the foul shots that dayton boys chest bumped?

 

I also heard that the Dayton student section chanted "Where is Brendon" referring to Lloyd QB that blew out his knee in the football season against Dayton.

If it is true that they chanted that, then I will agree that it was/is tasteless to taunt an injured player. That being said I have been to many LLoyd games as well as played against them when I was in school and have witnessed the student sections at those games chant some very tasteless things and sometimes even racist (we had a player from pakistan one year). Kids will say what they can to distract their opponents so that is irrelevent IMO.

I agree the officiating was not the best I have seen. However, are you implying the game was not pretty much dominated by Dayton the entire time? IMO, Dayton should of won the game by much more than it was, and the two handed defense that Lloyd was playing was never called and let Lloyd right back into the game. I am not saying it was bad defense by Lloyd, if the officials aren’t going to call it, keep doing it because it worked, but the officials were not very good either way. Dayton is very solid this year, and play very well as a team. Excellent win for Dayton, who pretty much controlled the entire game, and Lloyd played very hard as well.

I'm sorry but they should have NEVER lost to Dayton. Lloyd played like crap but that is no excuse. Seriously look at the numbers they normaly put up against much better teams then look at what they did that game. :jump:

Only saw the Jugs once so far this year, but thought they looked very uninspired. Might have been just an off night for them (vs. Oldham), but then again, maybe what they're missing at this point is an emotional leader... :confused:

Dayton never chest bumped after the foul shots. I don't know what the student sections chanted because I actually was paying attention to the game... But any chant about a football game would probably have been induced by a "Lets play football" chant, which is drawing the attention away from the basketball issue at hand anyways. And as far as student sections go anyways Lloyd shouldn't have much to say theirs is one of rudest crudest most inappropriate in NKY and everyone that plays there knows it. When you bring a student section into someone elses house you know that you are walking on eggshells so they should have been prepared.

EASILY the worst officiating I have ever seen. By far. Terrible calls all night. Some of the calls were flat out ridiculous. The refs gave that game to Dayton.

Were you there, directly across from the ref who had just sealed the game? No you were not. I, along with about twenty other people in the student section saw it. It's not like he even tried to hide it. He did it clearly and everyone saw it.
