I also love in "Bull Durham" when Annie Savoy asks Crash Davis (Costner):

 

"What do you believe in, then?"

 

That's when Crash responds with his historic, but not suitable for BGP, explanation of his philosophy...

 

"Well I believe in the soul..."

 

 

Another favorite part of this movie is when Costner tells the youngsters on the Minor League bus that he was in the show once:

 

Crash Davis: Yeah, I was in the show. I was in the show for 21 days once - the 21 greatest days of my life. You know, you never handle your luggage in the show, somebody else carries your bags. It was great. You hit white balls for batting practice, the ballparks are like cathedrals, the hotels all have room service, and the women all have long legs and brains.

 

 

I think we once had a "favorite quote" thread, and I mentioned that Costner line that is not appropriate for BGP. Great line.

The Training Day scene where Denzel leaves Hawke at the Latinos house to be killed is a tense one.

Love that part. Gave me chills just reading it.

 

However, I don't think that there's been a fictional movie character that's captivated Americans the way Rocky Balboa has.

 

The ending of Rocky II, when Rocky defeats Apollo Creed is a great movie moment.
