Voice of Reason
I had Graeter's donuts for the first time last week. AWESOME! Straight to the top of my list of favorite donuts. I am a cake donut fan and Graeter's cake donuts are right in between a typical cake donut and a Krispy Creme donut - not too heavy, not too light ... just right. :thumb:

Voice of Reason
Free And there is probably no food that people get to eat free more than donuts. My guess for second place on the frequency you get to eat it for free is pizza.
OlDog75
Nothing is better than a Punchski. It's a Polish pastery filled with fruit or custard, but since I can't get them here, I go with the next best. Cinnamon Rolls or Honey Buns I see them all the time at Meijer. Clyde
As one who hits the road quite often and samples the local establishments I can say that , hands down, the best donut I've ever had is at Long's in Indy. Not even close plus it's $0.53 .
OlDog75
Donuts literally make me sick to even look at. So why respond to a thread about favorite type of doughnuts?

My guess for second place on the frequency you get to eat it for free is pizza. People eat a lot of free cake and ice cream. I've been invited to have a piece of an awful lot of birthday cakes in my life.
mcpapa
I can't eat them, but... ...Amish-made donuts, Friday and Saturday mornings; Creekside Country Store on Route 11; Mason-Fleming County border. The absolute best. The wife, the daughter and the daughter's roommates swear by them. Gotta get there early, though - they're generally sold out by 8 or 8:30. Jim Schue
Blueberry cake donuts are the biggity-bomb, y'all! To add on to this, with new knowledge about the incredible bakery we have here in Bardstown, known as Hadorn's, I will suggest that another favorite of mine is the Apple Jack and the Yum-Yum. Their pecan danishes are fantastic as well.
Dlbdonn
One that I will never buy is the Maple iced long John with a strip of cold bacon on top from Buskens
