Public Speaking Class

Its not nearly as difficult to speak to a camera as it is to a class. Just talk about something you know about and it won't be bad at all :thumb: Good luck!

8-10 minutes is a long time, the camera won't bother me, I'm just looking to find a topic that I can do with little to no extra work. There are subjects that I am knowledgable about, I just don't know if I am 8-10 minutes knowledgable.

I took it online, I just have to record it, and send it in.

Public speaking class online??????

That defeats the whole purpose of you having to stand up in front of strangers and turning red...Booooo.

I would agree that online public speaking would seem to be an oxymoron.

I have a buddy who has taken an intro to computers class, as well as intro to the internet class, online.

My GF has to do a 5 minute speech for her spanish class, and it all has to be in Spanish.

She rehearsed it in front of me and I was laughing the whole time.

After looking over the syllabus he is really emphasizing creativity, so it may not be as bad as I thought.

I did one on the proper use of smoke detectors in the home. All kinds of boring facts and figures all available online. I brought a small piece of drywall, a cordless drill, and a new detector, and demonstrated how to install it, as well as how to change the batteries. What put mine over the top was, at the time, I was a volunteer firefighter. I wore my dress shirt and badge to class that night, but kept my jacket on until time for my speech. The uniform gave some authority to the facts. I don't like public speaking, but this was pretty easy.

I have to prepare an 8-10 minute informative speech for one of my classes. Figured I would check with the BGP'ers to find a good topic for this time frame.

You could talk about 00Rocket's love life....oh wait..you only have 8-10 minutes.:laugh:

Just put a little efort into it and you can talk for 8-10 minutes about anything.

I would talk about your BGP addiction and all the great buddies you talk to on here like me.

That oughta cover 8-10 minutes.

I did one on farming once and did quite well. Most college teachers know nothing about farming so therefor they wouldnt know weather you did or not.

Take 8-10 minutes and describe the different varietals of grapes in the Bordeaux region of France (biology), that they have been grown there since several hundred years B.C. (history), the strict rules regarding wine content (law), and how magical it is that the rot from the grapes is actually what converts the sugar into alcohol (chemistry). Then bring a couple of bottles and some galsses with you for your professor and classmates to sample as a Christmas treat (religion, sociology).

You will be a hit.
