Highlands' Kody Rosenhagen

..."I kept looking behind me to see if anybody was going to catch me. I think 30 yards was the closest anyone got," Rosenhagen said. "... I was just a little winded. I think I was too excited to be tired. It made kicking (the extra point) that much better because it was my touchdown. That's the first touchdown I've scored at any level of organized football."

Gotta love the "Kody Bear". Great article on a fine young man. I'm sure your parents are very proud.:thumb:

Kody will be the "Athlete of the Month" in the December issue of "Inside Fort Thomas". Look for it on Friday.

That's great. He deserves all the accolades that he's getting. :thumb:

Based on the article, I suspect Kody was always a "striper" in the Fort Thomas Jr. Football League. As such, he would have been prevented from running with the football, even on an interception or fumble recovery. Only chance to score a TD would have been to recover a fumble in the end zone. Glad he got to experience the thrill of scoring a TD on a big stage. (Although I believe he is usually the lead blocker for Head in the goal line offense as well, right? Maybe Dale will give him his "Refrigerator" Perry moment if the opportunity arises?)

When he was a kid in the FTJFL he told me that his goal was to lose enough weight one summer to be able to run the ball the next season. (Kody was a "striper".) When I saw him running back the fumble on Friday I thought back to this. I couldn't have been happier for a kid. (A "kid" who lifted me off my feet a couple of summers ago when we were goofing around, and I'm no lightweight.) He was the kicker back in those days and even then he could boom the ball. Good kid. Good family. One of the reasons that I'd like to see this Bluebird team take care of business and win state.

He can also crush a baseball..Great kid...:thumb:

What position does he play (in baseball)?

I think he's a pitcher.

I think he was a pitcher, but the injury he suffered early in the season (Colerain?) might have ended his pitching career. (Second hand info from my son who heard it from Kody.) I hope I'm wrong.

Jinx.

Plays first and pitch..

In his "youth" he played on the Muddogs Knothole City Champs team with fellow D-line mate, Adam Dempsey and about half of NCC's defense: Nate Rawe, Ben Paar, Mark Johnson, Logan Ferrara, and Chris Grosser. Pretty fair FB team for hardballers!! :ylsuper:

Congrats Cody

I assume he goes to have it checked at the end of the season?
