Bengals Ticket Taker charged with Misdemeanor Theft

Featured Replies

If you didn't why are you worried about it? It's really simple. Mike Brown could pay for ticket scanners to stop it from happening. I guarantee you that the Monday night football game and the Colts game the only year they were good there were thousands of people their who didn't have tickets.
"Thousands."

It is simple -- wrong is wrong. That's all I have to say about it.

What if the guy was going to put the $20 in the bucket of one of the homeless who sit outside the stadium?
Regardless of whom is at fault, entrapment or the ticket taker, I certainly hope you're not condoning this action, by making a donation.

Good intentions to a homeless, doesn't excuse the conduct, which would result in acquiring the $20, would it?

Is that what happened?

Couldn't tell ya. I don't know the man, nor his intentions.

If I had to guess, he was arrested almost immediately. But I'm not nearly as quick to judge as some are on here.

You should try reading the rest of the thread. I have stated multiple times that I'm not condoning the action. Just asking a hypothetical.

Easy now, as I do read considerable Posts and I was answering your question but you didn't answer mine.

If he was giving the money to the homeless, then he would not be making any additional money. As I have stated multiple times, I am not condoning the conduct; however, I am not as quick to judge this man as many others are.

As I have already stated, I do not have a problem with what happened. Personally, I wouldn't do it. I do not think that it is right. But it does not bother me at all.

My hypothetical was posed to those who were saying that this is stealing and were quick to point out how this man was in the wrong. I was simply wondering if they would feel the same way had the man intended to take advantage of an opportunity to help out the less fortunate.

This situation or another, the act of doing a great deed of giving money to less fortunate, doesn't trump the action in which it was acquired.

Interesting.

I take it you're not a big fan of Robin Hood either? ;)

Look you've obviously never done it and I have. I guarantee you that at some games there were at least 2,000 people that did it which would make it thousands. Quit laughing if you don't know. This happened at more than one game. So yes during individual games and especially during the season thousands of people do it. If they are ever good again and you go to a game look at the standing areas.

Oh, now I see your point. You're trying to justify what you did in the past.

Again, no I could care less what you think about me going to a sold out football game by handing a guy $20 to get into a sold out football game. Why do I need to justify it to you? I think that the Brown family knows it happens and doesn't care. The way this stroy was in the paper is either wrong or the guy that let in the cop is an idiot for getting caught.

I'd say the number is not likely to even reach the "hundreds." There just aren't that many petty thieves out there.

I never said you had to justify to me, but you are obviously trying to justify it for yourself. Whatever makes you feel better about yourself, then have at it. How is the accused supposed to differentiate between someone like yourself and a cop? I would think if the Brown family didn't care then they would have had the charges dropped by now. I'm sure the police don't just set up an undercover sting if there have been no complaints about something illegal taken place.

And what you would say would be wrong. Again I've done it and you've heard about it.

I'm not trying to justify it to myself either. I could actually care less. I'll go again if they are ever good. Where did it say Brown knew about the sting? The person should have a better system than taking the $20 at the same time they are sneaking into the game. For instance if I were to do it I would pay they ticket taker the day before the game or some time after he got off duty. Nobody of the group of "hundreds" that I knew paid as they were going in. Therefore the guy knows some or most of the people that go in. If anyone tries to go in and pay at the same time they are denied and he plays dumb. So the story is wrong or the ticket taker isn't smart.
