December 3, 200817 yr I agree. And sorry, but there's no way it was in the "thousands." That's just an "everybody does it" excuse. :thumb: And for those that would justify this theft of services, how is it fair to all of those people who paid large amounts of money for the privilege of admission to the game. You're right...it isn't. Note: I have not heard a single season ticket holder complain about it. Or a single person who went to the game.
December 3, 200817 yr Note: I have not heard a single season ticket holder complain about it. Or a single person who went to the game. Still doesn't make it right though.
December 3, 200817 yr Note: I have not heard a single season ticket holder complain about it. Or a single person who went to the game. Note: I wonder how many people will quit buying season tickets, or single game tickets now that they know all they have to do is tip a dishonest Bengal employee to get into the game.
December 3, 200817 yr Still doesn't make it right though. No it doesn't. And nowhere in this thread (or anywhere else) will you find me condoning this type of illegal activity. With that said, I just hate when people bring up arguments that it's "not fair" when the people who are getting jipped aren't upset about it. A little off topic here, but it reminds me of the NCAA making all of the Indian Tribal mascots change their nicknames to less "offensive" names, when the Native Americans didn't even mind. Thanks, now I feel better.
December 3, 200817 yr Note: I wonder how many people will quit buying season tickets, or single game tickets now that they know all they have to do is tip a dishonest Bengal employee to get into the game. That would be a question, not a note. But I'll play along anyway. Zero.

Might even be higher.
December 3, 200817 yr That would be a question, not a note. But I'll play along anyway. Zero. No it was a note to myself to ask Bengals fans later. Thanks for playing along though.

I'd say it would be 100%, but you have to consider the circumstances. It's tough to be in a good mood when you're a Bengals fan at a Bengals game. In all seriousness, I don't think anybody could condone what went on here. Personally, I don't have a problem with it (and my family pays for season tickets). I agree that it is wrong, but it just isn't that big of a deal to me. There are far too many other "wrongs" in society that are much more important to me than a guy who bribes his way into a Bengals game.
December 4, 200817 yr A little reminder from Theoldguy; Don't always believe what you see on the TV news or read in the papers! Remember, there are always two sides to a story and both sides should be heard from before we pass judgement.
December 4, 200817 yr I'm sure if you took a poll at the game, you'd get about a 98% negative reaction from those who did the right thing and ponied up the big bucks. Might even be higher. If you polled the same fans about Mike Brown what would their reaction be? I'd bet at least 98% would be negative. Also, all of the tickets are sold for the game. I really don't think a fan w/ a good seat would be upset about a fan filling the standing areas by paying $20 to a ticket taker to get in. They aren't sitting next to people who paid $80 for their seats. People are blowing this out of proportion. People have been sneaking into sporting events forever. Who cares? I would be willing to bet a crazy amount of money that nothing happens to this guy. In Hamliton County they're complainig in the media about jail space yet they charge a guy who took a $20 from an undercover cop. Another point I'd like to add I'd be willing to bet he didn't take 20 from a cop but that the cop watched someone give him a 20 to let them in. If he took it directly from the cop he's either a.) dumb or b.) was set up by someone he knows.
December 4, 200817 yr Note: I wonder how many people will quit buying season tickets, or single game tickets now that they know all they have to do is tip a dishonest Bengal employee to get into the game. Note: I wonder how many are mad that they continue to give the Brown family hard earned money yet they do nothing to try to put a winning product on the field. I would bet that fans will not renew their tickets b/c of the owner more so than they found out a fan got in for $20.

As for people sneaking in forever -- yes, crime and immorality has been around since Eve got hungry.

As for people sneaking in forever -- yes, crime and immorality has been around since Eve got hungry. If you didn't why are you worried about it? It's really simple. Mike Brown could pay for ticket scanners to stop it from happening. I guarantee you that the Monday night football game and the Colts game the only year they were good there were thousands of people their who didn't have tickets.

What if the guy was going to put the $20 in the bucket of one of the homeless who sit outside the stadium?
