I don't know if it hurts worst for the lost or for the new chapter in life. The page has turned for the seniors. One thing I will miss the most is seeing #20and#30 run that football in orange jerseys. Old #11 running and throwing to #4 and #12 #13 and them big boys #63 #73 #68 and #45 #33. It's really hard to even think about it right now. I have been around all of these boys since they where 5 years old. I can tell you there is not a bad apple in the bunch. They made a lot of friends thur out the area. They respect ever team they played. They played ever game like it was there last one. For this fan and Dad I am really going to miss this bunch of kids. A special thanks for the work from all of the coaches for the time and hard work put into this team. You wont find anywhere in the country a better bunch of coaches. Yes, it hurts now and I hope the boys can see what they mean to the Raceland community. Again thank you boys for a great year. We all love you.

Thanks Skunk, we take pride in our football team, no matter how they do, and this year was fun for everyone. There is a tremendous amount of community support for the Raceland program, most of the people on BGP from Raceland, and most of the fans at the games do not have children on the team, they just like supporting the Rams.

Congrats to the Ram family on a great season! It is refreshing seeing a program in the area with all the support and great things going on. You have made the area proud this year!

Raceland has alot to be proud of going 12-1. I for one watch a few games over the last three years and the Rams play a tough brand of football.

The thing that has to remembered and carried on by the returning players is that work ethic and desire to play hard and win. If the 2009 teams plays in this manner, we could be playing 13 or more games again next year.

Surprising that Raceland, a team dripping with football tradition, has not won a regional football title.

Mrs. Sidelinedoc and myself are planning a Thursday meal for the senior boys in the near future. We already miss them and want to have them over during the holiday season. John Scott may be going through Buffalo chicken dip withdrawals.

For years we were in a district with Beechwood and NCC. Tough Region.

I know that there were many years that the team we played and were beaten by in a regional final (or before) went on to win the State Championship. Ludlow in 75 I believe was the first year then Bellevue (the years they had the Sutcamps) a time or two, Beechwood several years along with NCC.

I just wanted to post and say a thank you to all of the Raceland posters that have built this team up and supported them like you have. :thumb:

On a personal note, most of you know me and know my physical limitations (not able to get out and about like I used to or want to) and I want you to know that I appreciate all the help and encouragement that you have given me in some of my personal (health) battles. This is a perfect example of what Raceland is......a community and Ram Pride that goes above and beyond any and all expectations everytime!

 

There is a saying around here that describes our feeling about Ram Football but I personally carry it furhtewr than that on a personal basis and am so grateful for all the help and support, it goes something like this............."IF, after all or these years you have to ask about Raceland Ram Football.....then you wouldn't understand". I feel this same way not only about the football but for the people here as well.

Oldrambler, Raceland is a team that extends well beyond the players. The community: fans and former players have a sense of ownership in the program. And, I know that is how the coaches and school system want it. You are always part of that team.

 

I want to thank all the Raceland BGP members as well. They have kept thing positive and set a good example for the players. I know that the players, and parents have read most of the threads on here about Raceland, and I know they have appreciated the support. I can't see being associated with a better bunch then the Ram Nation.

You can root for Raceland anytime you want, we won't tell anyone. I know this Ram Fan would have been rooting for Greenup County and Russell as long as they were still alive in the playoffs.

 

Painter, you and Greybeard have been made honorary Ram Fans. You all have been very supportive of the Raceland program all year, and for that we all appreciate it. I think you may have even recruited some Ashland fans, anytime they are not playing the Rams.

Painter and Graybeard are now official "TomRamblers" and I along with a few other Raceland Fans are "RamblerCats". :thumb:
