November 24, 200817 yr Well its about that time for it!!! Like it? Love it? Hate it? What is it? I could honestly eat a whole pie to myself if it came down to it.
November 24, 200817 yr Hate it! I don't think it's the taste so much as the texture though. Blech....
November 24, 200817 yr I could probably eat a whole pie but I don't!!! I love me some pumpkin pie with a huge scoop of whip cream on top.
November 24, 200817 yr Frisch's has some yummylicious pumpkin pie. But other than that I don't get too much into it. My family LOVES it though. I'll always be a banana cream pie, or chocolate creme pie kinda girl...and cherry pie or peach cobbler during Thanksgiving always makes me happy.
November 24, 200817 yr Pumpkin custard pie for me. Egg custard and Kentucky Derby pie are the ones I make for the holidays.
November 24, 200817 yr I like to make pumpkin bread....cut it up, then make a pumpkin mousse.....and then using a piping bag, put it on the bread that is diced up....yum..
November 24, 200817 yr Love it! I too would it a whole pie if I had to. Heck I do it when I don't have to.
November 24, 200817 yr Frisch's has some yummylicious pumpkin pie.Yes, Frisch's is the only place I've had pumpkin pie that I really like. It's the best!
November 24, 200817 yr Yes, Frisch's is the only place I've had pumpkin pie that I really like. It's the best! Obviously, you are a city boy. Come to one of our country church dinners and you won't want to leave. Might not be able to from overeating.:thumb:
November 24, 200817 yr Yes, Frisch's is the only place I've had pumpkin pie that I really like. It's the best! My grandpa buys one nowadays ALL THE TIME. I go to his house, open up the fridge, see the pie and the whip cream and I'm golden. MMM. Their cheesecake is scrumptious too.
November 24, 200817 yr I'm not a big fan of pumpkin pie. I don't hate it, I just don't like it that much. Now DQ's pumpkin pie blizzard, that's another story. I could eat a gallon of that stuff in one setting.
November 24, 200817 yr What is that? It is a type of gourd I believe. Very good pie that is very similar to pumpkin. You have seen them during the fall in displays with pumpkins. They are the green gourds. CUSHAW PIE 2/3 c. white sugar 1/3 c. brown sugar 2 c. cooked cushaw 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. ginger 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 3 eggs 2 c. milk, scalded 3 tbsp. butter Add sugar, salt and spices to cushaw. Add lightly beat eggs, then milk and butter. Pour into uncooked pie shell. Bake 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce oven to 350 degrees and continue baking until a toothpick comes out clean.
