With OU pounding Texas Tech, the BCS is starting to get pretty cloudy. Alabama is alone at the top in the BCS conferences. There are a lot of 1 loss teams fighting for a few spots. Here's what we KNOW so far:

 

Penn State is IN

Oregon State and Cincy are on the doorstep ( both need 1 more win)

Utah is more than likely in (Fiesta?)

 

The next 2 weeks are gonna be FUN.

It will be really fun IF Bama was to lose to Florida in the SEC Championship game.

Would be great to see Florida beat Alabama, then you have a slew of one loss teams that would have legitimate gripe as to why they deserve one of the two spots.

This is the exact reason why we need a plus one or 8 team playoff system. Take the top 8 teams in the BCS and let them duke it out.

Lets all assume we're not getting a playoff prior to 2015.

 

Is there a better way to select teams for the BCS? You're telling me that UC and an ACC team are going to be in BCS games while one of the Big 12 teams goes to a lesser bowl? Is the BCS about the best 8 or is it about scratching each of the big conferences collective backs?

Makes sense that he would (even with Alabama being undefeated) because of conference loyalty and the fact that Tech beat Texas and lost to OU.

 

I wonder how many coaches did the same thing, or for that matter voted OU higher than Texas.

I'm curious as to who on here would vote Alabama as #1 if you based it on who you think would win head-to-head?

 

I'd have to vote OU, Texas, and Florida as my top 3 and I'm not fully convinced in that order.

I would vote Texas #1, followed by Florida, OU, then Bama.

Florida is number one.. Then Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Then Alabama.

Bama is #1 until they get beat. Sooners beat a team with no defense and a small D at that. Sooners have a loss.

 

Gators have a loss in the same conference as Bama. Folks don't punish Bama.

 

You would feel the same as I do if your team was in the position as my team, in fact put yourself in a Bama fan's shoes or a team that is undefeated and #1 and people are showing no respect, how would you feel?

 

The playoffs started back in August.

Let the strongest and most luckies two teams survive. The worst thing about this whole BCS scenario is this year is screaming for another system whether being a plus one format or 4-8 team playoff. However, not even a possibility until around 2011 when the bowl committee takes another vote on the NCAA post season.
