I have to chime in and support the player here. I have not seen the young man play in a while, but evaluating a player on one play is foolish. David Akers, who kicks for the Philadelphia Eagles, missed 2 field goals when the U of L and U of K regular season games got started not too long ago. He said he vomited in the car. Akers hasn't done too badly?

:laugh: Carroll County played both teams this season and Desales was the better team.

 

I don't understand how you could compare and judge two good teams against Carroll County?

Maybe you should think before you post. DeSales won the game Friday night 23-16. DeSales is the better team. :thumb:

 

I wouldn't say Desales is necessarily the better team. This game could have went either way and I think that if they played 10 games both would win 5. These teams were very evenly matched and that's what made for the great game.:thumb:

While I agree it looks bad, oftentimes that's EXACTLY when you see a flag come. Why ? Because many officials hesitate to call holding when the foul doesn't adversely affect the defensive team.

 

Obviously, if HC broke the run for a TD, the defense would have been hurt badly by a non-call. While seeing the offense make a big gain was what prompted the flag, if officials called every hold, games would take 4 hours.

 

Since you haven't denied a hold occurred, I assume the call was correct.

 

It was called on the lead blocker, and the lead blocker pancaked the kid. I disagree with the call.

One botched kick isn't a valid indicator of his "ability" and Ryan does indeed have "it" along with great athleticism and the right attitude to succeed. My son played 4 years with a D1 kicker (UL's Tim Dougherty) so I think I might know one when I see one.

Obviously Purdue and Louisville's coaching staffs think he can or they wouldn't have given him the opportunity.

If DeSales was the better team you played, then how did you lose to DeSales 30-15 and Holy Cross 56-3?

Yeah they were 4-8. Tough schedule. They made a nice run in the playoffs though. They destroyed Carroll County 56-3. They played one heck of a game against a very good DeSales team.

Ok if we're gonna play that card then how did 4-8 team in HC go into overtime and lead most of the game against a team in Desales that was 9-2. If we went by record like you are then Desales should have killed them. Also I believe Carrol County had a better record than the Indians and they lost by 53.:confused: You can't use records as an example when they have no common opponents everyone knows that.:fight:
