Technically, two games and then done. But you are right. Madison Central has only been to the third round twice since 1991, losing regional finals in 2003 and 2004. Seven times since 1996 Madison Central has won their first round game before losing in the second round.

Terrible, terrible performance by Madison Central. I haven't been this disappointed in a team in a long time....if you come out that flat in a 2nd round playoff game you are going to get it handed to you, and they did.

 

The story of the first half was this: Male kickoff, MC return to the 20 yard line, 3 and out, punt.........the punt was either returned for a TD, returned inside the 5, or Male football with great field position. I wasn't overlly impressed with Male's offense since they had such a short field to go on nearly every possession, but Justin Green is very good. Halftime score was 34-0 H.

 

MC has had trouble protecting the passer all year and H exploited this...with 9 men in the box they shut down MC's ground game for the most part and smothered QB Zach Coldiron on every drop back. MC offense looked much better in the 2nd half and should have cut the lead to 34-21 with 10 minutes to go in the game but Tyler Mays dropped a TD pass.

 

The worst part is Madison Central is a very, very Senior laden team...they are going to lose basically everything on offense but RB Shane King and a couple of lineman........defensively they lose 6 or 7 starters...rebuilding years could take place since this years sophmore class is very weak....with T and X on the opposite bracket and 6A being down this year, I thought this was MC's chance at a run, guess not. I agree with colonelfan2001, same old story :sleep:

Male's as healthy now as they have been all season.
