So if I state an opinion on what I see currently happening I am a bad fan? I will/have not given up being a fan of UL. The way I look at this is similar to every day life. If I am not doing a "good job or winning" in my job you'd better bet I will be told/hear about it!

From what I have been told these players are very hungry to "show up", for the staff. They are sickened by the "fans", who really aren't that. Like I said before, we all knew going into this season, that Louisville's margin of error had to be minimal to win games. In their losses they have made crucial, crucial mistakes. In their wins they haven't. Take this Saturday for example. If they don't make mental mistakes, they will win. If they do, they'll lose. Louisville can play with just about anybody, and they can also get beat by just about anybody. It makes for some extreme volatility in emotions as a season progresses.

 

Then they should show it on the field and they haven't. Part of eliminating mental mistakes is being well prepared by your coaches. I don't see that happening.

 

And quite frankly I don't care that the players are "sickened" by the fans. If not for the fans then their scholarships, study halls, lodging, meals, books and everything else that they receive doesn't happen. They are being paid to perform and they aren't doing that. Negative fan reaction is to be expected when playing big time college sports.

Might as well jump on board for the next 15-16 games or so, and then evaluate after that. Holding calls may be mental mistakes, but even we at Trinity get our fair share of them, they simply happen. I will not blame these late game penalties on the coaching. It has more to do with numbers. Go Cards!!!

What's unreasonable?

 

In this day and age of bowl games I don't think it's at all unreasonable to be upset that it now appears we won't go to one for a second straight year.

 

I don't think it's at all unreasonable for us to expect the team to at least look like they are prepared and ready to play. IMVHO more times then not they have looked completely unprepared in the past 2 years.

 

I have been and will remain a Louisville fan. If Kragthorp is able to turn this train wreck around I will be happy and admit I was wrong. I really wish I saw it happening.

 

Now let me ask you, what have you seen on the field that makes you belive that Kragthorp is the right man for the job?

First things first, the team has seemed prepared in that last 5-6 games, IMO....they had a gameplan for Pitt (the wheels fell off with 5 TO's), playcalling was good, defense was good, punt receiving awful. UC they had the game where they wanted, and again they stumbled themselves. You are around a lot of good football, these kids are solid, but not great. They have to play error free, or close to it, to win the tough games. If U of L can somehow win these next two, they are going bowling. That's an improvement from last year.

 

They are better coached now, than they were at this point last season. I hope that we can say the same, at this point next season. You and I are both Cardinal fans. I am willing to give Coach until next season is over, before I voice true dis-pleasure about his performance. I hope others do the same, I understand if some don't. I really hate the pur venom that many on here, and other boards spew, with name calling and other such things. Coach Kragthorpe has proven his worth everywhere he has been so far, I expect the same here when all is settled.

Yes...at least that seemed to be the standard others, including U of L fans, held UK fans to in the past. :thumb:

Just a general statement...I can't recall you ever saying anything in that regard.

 

I just like to get a few cheap shots in when the opportunity presents itself. Two or three years of the "we'd never act like UK fans" attitude...well, as one Cardinal fan on here posted in a different thread, "Karma is a mother."

I guess you could call it a gut. But there is some logic. U of L, at worst is competing right now in the Big East, while playing a ton of people with no prior experience. The coaching is getting better and better.....these boys will be ready in a year or so.

Just curious, because I can only imagine the ridicule a UK fan would receive for making a similar statement. :thumb:

 

There's no reason I can think of to support the statement that U of L will be in a BCS Bowl sooner rather than later. There are a handful of programs in the Big East that are better than them now, and look better equipped for the future...

I simply have not noticed that.

 

If you don't think the coaching is leaps and bounds better now, than this time last season, I don't know what to say.
