Estill Co. 31 Somerset 6

I thought the field conditions actually hurt Estill more than they did Somerset. The Jumpers were completely selling out to stop the run and in a lot of cases over pursued and left cutback lanes for the Engineers. However, the field got so slick in the rain that it made it almost impossible for their backs to cut back and exploit it. As far as the mistakes I meant that they held onto the ball well given the conditions and committed hardly any penalties. (I still haven't figured out the one holding call that they did receive, it was on the backside of a play and I didn't see a Jumper defender anywhere around to get held--maybe the ref just threw it in the wrong spot) As for missed blocking assignments--there may have been a bunch of mistakes there but they didn't hurt themselves with penalties and fumbles. You've got a very nice team--good luck next week!

Thanks alot. You should come on down to taylor next week.

I'm thinking about doing that. My son is a freshman on this year's team and he mentioned it this morning so we may end up making the trip.

Congrats Estill Co.

Well let me be the first to congratulate you, if your son sticks with it he will be a part of a pretty talented team in the next couple of years.:thumb:

Thanks, hopefully they'll continue to work hard. He's #55 if we play again keep an eye out for him. He played some on defense last night and said your line was extrememly hard hitting.

This line had lots of experience as freshman, and carried the team over the last three years, they've bought into the hard work that must be put into the weight room, and are unbelievably strong, I hope #55 for the Briar Jumpers does the same, and we can talk about him with such high compliments in the next couple of years.:ylsuper:

Somerset is a young team. This makes two weeks straight that a bunch of 14 year olds had to play a bunch of 18 year olds. Sometimes you have to take a few lickings, but work hard and you will get better.

Have 10 of the offensive starters from Friday's playoff game back next year plus two others that normally start that were injured.

We have 8 starters on D from Friday coming back next year. Could be a really good year next year if we work hard from now til then.

What does Estill have coming back next year?

They loose 11 seniors. 10 start on offense. 9 on D.

Somerest did good for 12 year olds.
