I think Leatherneck, Henry, a couple others, and I were the only ones warning everyone that this was not going to be a blowout.

Oh man...my heart can't take this stuff!!:creepy:

I'm sure LN and Henry's first posts will be "Told ya so." :sssh:;)

I did say in the prediction thread that I hoped to see a close game, me and my Big mouth! I'll never say that again. I promise.
I swear, I said those exact words on the way to the car tonight!
I spoke with one of the BS coaches as the game was about to end and asked him the same question...he told me his team didn't know how to win the close games and when they did win, didn't know how to maintain a winning attitude. They had all the talent in the world, but lacked the discipline needed to be a contender.

That's tough. From the sounds of it, BS had all of the makings to be one of the best in 5A and proved it tonight.

They missed so many holds and a critical offensive pass interference call that should have went against BS but instead it resulted in a score and the lead for them.
I bet you all in the stands saw my comrades and I freaking out over on our side when that pass interference WASN'T called. :D I just about destroyed my BGP hat whackin' it on the railing. :irked:

Bryan Station played a great game, but in my opinion the final play they called.. was horrible. You have what 50 yards to go and you throw a WR screen with one personal protector against 6 Highlands DB's waiting down field... I didn't get that.

How was that not called?

BS fans wanted a call on the play around the same time as that one.....makeup non-call maybe? :sssh:

I was the one screaming choice words that echoed off the wall behind you nicely may I add. I was simply just trying to explain to the ref that he needs to call that. When the offensive play is not eve going for the ball, shoves the defender with both hands and the defenders back arches from the blow, that's pass interference!:eek::eek::eek:

I told the coach in parting that his team had nothing to be ashamed of and they could hold their heads high...what an excellent game...I think my BP and pulse are just about back to normal!

I have no idea. He bumped our guy into next Tuesday. Happened right in front of me.

I thought BS should've thrown it all night long. Throw in a few draws with that speedy back. Could've been a different game.

But you're right, that last play call was terrible. As much speed as those WR's had, send 'em all to a corner and throw the ball up and see what happens.

Give the Birds credit on the bend but don't break defense tonight.

I really felt bad for the Bryan Station kids. Some of them couldn't get up off the field after time expired. I don't blame them a bit after such an emotional game.

Did this remind any of you long-time Highlands fans of the Mudbowl? Except, this time, we came out on the good end of the battle.

I was just telling my wife the same thing BF!

Still shaking my head wondering how that team ended up as a 4th seed.

Had we lost, it would have been the first time since 1991 that we lost in the first round.
