Awesome show and tribute to 2 of the nation's finest. For me, it was confirmation all over again about how proud and blessed I feel that my son was able to experience St. X and participate in this contest between two outstanding HS football programs. I had lunch with him in Lexington today and it was interesting to hear about the perspectives of both sides since he watched the show with fellow fraternity members which are predominately former Tiger and Rock players.

A few added tidbits:

1. I understand why, but I wish they would have given a bigger presentation on the tailgating-it truly rivals many college pre-games.

2. Mike McCormick is the consummate St. X Tiger-the look in his eyes in the locker room said it all.

3. I said it at the actual game and will say it again-IMO Cam Smyth is one of the best HS QB's I've seen. I marveled at his elusiveness, composure and instincts during the game but I had no idea he was getting hit so much. One tough nut!

Want some cheese with that. It is a pep rally for goodness sakes. I am sure that has never happened at a Trinity Pep Rally. I want to know about all the cursing from Beatty's mouth. He knew the camera's were there and could have refrained from all the Dam's.

As a father of a former player I can tell you there is no other coach my son would have wanted to play for than Bob Beatty. Trinity Football is about winning and with winning their is a price to pay. Some players put themselves ahead of the team and find themselves in the crosshairs with coach. Proof is in the pudding...Bob is all about team -

 

Bob loves his team - He is a good man who teaches these guys life lessons. I am glad my son won 3 State Championships at Trinity - more importanly - I am glad he played for Bob Beatty.

17 time you are correct. At Other schools it is all about the win...and all about football. WIN at all cost. certain coaches care only about how many "W's" he gets. As long as it is his way "the team" concept is what Coach stands for. Certain coaches care that the players get wins for him. He does not worry or care about what happens to these young men once they walk out of the doors of certain schools.

 

Also don't ever, ever, ever try to put another coach in the same class as Mike Glaser. it will never add up. I wish the rings you wear dictated the life you will lead.

Coach Lampley and Coach Beatty are both class acts all of the way. To think otherwise is laughable. Slamming other coaches in an attempt to make yours look better only diminishes Glasers' accomplishments.

Roc4ever apparently has an "ax to grind" with some of the folks in the Trinity Community. He chooses anonymity on this site which is his choice.

 

As far as your son goes, somebody has to go to school on Poplar Level Rd. ;)We simply do not have enough room for 2900 students on Shelbyville Rd.

 

After 25 years or so of dealing with Mr. Glaser I can assure you he is no saint when it comes to dealing with his student-athletes. :irked:

 

I simply add one quote from him: "I wish Trinity never existed". His brother Bill echoed this sentiment a few years ago when Trinity was at LexCath for a scrimmage that was in a weather delay.:devil:

 

Hope you all make it to December 5th. I'm confident Trinity will still be in the tournament come round 4.:thumb:

Awesome production! The NFL people certainly lived up to their reputation. great footage of the game. What a tremendous tribute to the guys this year and also to the tradition of the game for all of the years in the past. The guys from both schools who were gathered in the parking lot to share a b..... er tailgate was priceless. That is part of why the event has continued to prosper year after year.

 

Most of the guys who actually play in the game are able to compete with great intensity on the field and continue their rivalry and friendships for long after they've hung up the pads.
