Obama said the other night that he wants a playoff so hopefully he'll make that his first order of business...

I think the 8 team playoff could be used and not disturb the bowl set up!

8 team playoff would be good considering every team with any discussion of being up for a NC would get a shot.

However, the best possible solution and best way I see fit for college football as of right now is the plus one game. Bowl games generate so much money and no one really wants to get away from that, especially the BCS games. However, being they are 5 BCS games now anyway, you can use two of those games say for instance Rose Bowl, and Sugar Bowl one year (with top four teams being in those two bowl games) then the winners from those two meeting up in the National Championship game in which as of right now is the 5th BCS bowl. Then of course the two semi final games so to speak would rotate each year that way the Fiesta Bowl and Orange Bowl also could host semi final games as well.

IMO that is the best fix and would make a lot of people happy. You get to keep the current system that is in place basically. Only thing is you remove two teams from being in BCS games (who needs 10 anyway?) and you give the four hottest teams a chance at the title with no chance of a split NC, a debated NC, none of that. It gets decided on the field and not much would have to change in order to get this.

I would love a 32 team playoff, it would be perfect. Let the rest of the "bowl eligible" teams play in bowl games..

32 teams in football would be pointless. That many teams will never truly be title contenders.

How could it be pointless? It would beat the current system we have for sure. March Madness is my favorite time of the year, seeing the upsets, and who is who in college basketball, why not something similar in college football?? Sure I understand the bowl tradition and everything that goes with it, but it's time for a change. I wouldn't mind a 16 team playoff, which could be better in some ways, but a 32 teamer would be amazing, and I don't believe anything would be much better than some college football playoffs..

I'm all about playoffs but 32 would be a waste of time. There is no parody in football like there is in basketball. I have no desire to waste a week on watching a team like Central Michigan lose by 50+ points when there could be decent matches going on as well as other bowl games.

I don't believe so.

All conference winners would make the playoff, having 11 automatic bids, so 21 at large teams come in to play. Teams like Ohio State, Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma, Cal, Georgia, BYU, Florida State, Michigan State, Kansas, Kentucky, teams who don't win their conference make it. I would love to see it, nothing could make me more happy..

Kentucky?? You just proved my point.

Just put them in there for example, that's all..

Gotcha. I'm with you on the playoffs but we'll just have to agree to disagree on the amount of teams. :thumb:

The current system gives us something to talk about and big games with a ton of meaning every single week, let's keep it plus one.
