But I guess the same goes for Mother Theresa and Martin Luther King Jr., how dare they educate and inspire others to change the world for the better. That was a ridiculous statement. Pretty sure they led by example, not as hypocrites.
November 2, 200817 yr I did say we can do harm locally. Even if you do not believe God, man is just not that powerful to destroy the planet. I hope you will find a place in your soul for God, if you have not yet done so. So if nuclear war started we couldn't harm the planet?

But no, we will not destroy the planet, but will change our way of life. While the bombs of today are stronger, let us remember that the 2 cities in Japan that were bombed by atomic weapons have been lived in since the bombings.

You will be whether you want to or not, there will be some ridiculous laws passed that will cost you and I for this wild goose chase, especially if Obama wins Tuesday. I'm quite sure that these laws will benefit Gore in the companies he's holding stock in.

Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm really trying to understand. My understanding is that he does not direct us as to what choices we make, but he already knows the outcome. Hopefully the choices we make are good ones based upon the lessons we have learned through his words.

The sun is what controls "global warming", not man.
November 3, 200817 yr I am reminded of the famous quote, "And then there was the man that drowned in a stream that had an average depth of 6 inches." Is "Switzerland warming" or "Florida warming" the same as global warming? And I'm not necessarily sold on the purported magnitude of global warming; although I agree with those who subscribe to the belief that being good stewards of the environment is a good thing. It just seems to me that both sides often take very localized and/or anecdotal reports and try to apply them to a (pardon the expression) global situation.

The sun is what controls "global warming", not man. The sun can be a factor in the Earth having warming periods, but it certainly is not the only factor. The sun's rays blocks cosmic rays from entering the earth, and since cosmic rays form clouds, and clouds help keep the earth cooler, then yes the sun does affect temperature. But for anyone to say that Global Warming is not really happening or that humans cannot affect the climate is just naive and uninformed. The debate on whether Global Warming is real or not is over. There is too much scientific evidence proving it for anyone to try and say it isn't happening.
