On the Drudge Report last night there were several stories about cold weather. One said that Switzerland had the most snow in October since records were kept. Methane gas was showing up in amounts that confounded scientists, because it does not fit their model and Florida had record cold tempertures. I hope Al Gore took some sweaters with him as he goes to Florida to drum up support for Obama.

At the beginning of the summer there was a predicition that all the ice in the Arctic was going to melt. When I was in Florida in July the beach seemed the same as the last time I wes there 5 years ago.A and as of today my in-laws are still living in Florida and they have not mentioned any flooding at their condo.

Ive taken Al Gore's message to heart and haven't given him any money at all.

Those are pretty harsh words for a Nobel Peace Prize Laureate. But I guess the same goes for Mother Theresa and Martin Luther King Jr., how dare they educate and inspire others to change the world for the better.

I never considered either Mother Theresa or MLK world class hypocrites. They walked the walk. With Gore, it's a "Do as I say, not as I do" proposition, in addition to his constant pitch for money to fund his favorite charity, Albert Gore, Jr.

I have no problem with common sense conservation. As a retired history teacher, I know we did some bad things. In the 1960's I remember making changes, changes that cleaned up our water supplies and the air, but to think that hair-spray used in the US was destroying the ozone at the South Pole is ridiculous. And the thought that we humans can destroy the earth fits the same category, we may do local harm, but not world wide. We are not that great, only god has that power.

That's assuming I have the same viewpoint as you, which I don't. I don't understand how you can believe we, as humans, can't alter our environment.

I did say we can do harm locally. Even if you do not believe God, man is just not that powerful to destroy the planet. I hope you will find a place in your soul for God, if you have not yet done so.
