October 26, 200817 yr I thought Florida would win big, but I didn't think it'd be this ugly. Hate to say it, but maybe UK really isn't as good as some of us think and as someone stated earlier, playing a week non-conference schedule gave a lot of us false hope.
October 26, 200817 yr Playing that weak non-league schedule gave Cat fans way too much false hope. I don't think so. It was their performance @ Alabama that gave so many UK fans hope. We handled Louisville, who has turned out to have a decent year. We beat MTSU, who has given some solid teams a run for their money. Everybody knew from game 1 that we were going to struggle to score. The difference is our defense has kept us in a lot of games. When special teams starts giving up points, it is difficult for a team to come back. Especially when you can't move the ball on O.
October 26, 200817 yr U.K. imo just came back to reality in this one. Althought I didn't think that it would be this bad I knew that it would get ugly (I had picked 42-7 I think). U.K. from the start was not going to be remotely close this year to last years team. Add in all the injuries that the Cats have had and I don't see how anyone expected it to be close. U.K. has been absolutely pathetic special teams play. The Cats defense has been a huge plus and are very good. With some of the injuries now on the "D" side of the ball coupled with the offense not being able to keep the defense off the field and you are seeing a worn down defensive squad. U.K. has Miss. State next and if they do not get that one (which I doubt they do) then I honestly don't think they win another game. Maybe Vandy but who knows how more beat up the Cats will be when that time comes. I hope that I am wrong about that and would love to see the Cats win a couple more.

October 27, 200817 yr No one has mentioned it but it bothered me what they did at the end of the game.Brooks complained about the fans quiting on them last week and he does the same thing this week.They were moving the ball and maybe could have scored at the end and he has them just stand there and run out the clock.What does that tell you?Lets just quit and go home.:irked::irked:
October 27, 200817 yr Just my opinion, of course, but it is evident to me that Kentucky does not want to give Randall Cobb reps at quarterback because they want to get him reps at the position he will play for the next three years........slot receiver. It seems as though Kentucky coaches have promised playing time to Morgan Newton next season and so Mike Hartline will get the reps at quarterback as a stand-in this season. They know the game and it is obvious that Mike Hartline does not have the ability to pass the football at this level. Randall Cobb would be in the quarterback position full-time right now if didn't have Morgan Newton moving into that position next season. Personally, I don't like the UK coaching staff's decision, but........ I know.. I'd rather see Cobb at slot than at QB but if the Cats want any chance at a bowl, Cobb has to be the man. He is a playmaker, period. Newton can't get here fast enough.
