October 25, 200817 yr A few quotes from one of our greatest presidents, Abraham Lincoln. "...I know that the Lord is always on the side of the right. But it is my constant anxiety and prayer that I and this nation should be on the Lord's side." "Property is the fruit of labor...property is desirable...is a positive good in the world. That some should be rich shows that others may become rich, and hence is just encouragement to industry and enterprise. Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another; but let him labor diligently and build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence when built." "We all declare for liberty; but in using the same word we do not all mean the same thing. With some the word liberty may mean for each man to do as he pleases with himself, and the product of his labor; while with others, the same word may mean for some men to do as they please with other men, and the product of other men's labor. Here are two, not only different, but incompatible things, called by the same name - liberty. And it follows that each of the things is, by the respective parties, called by two different and incompatible names - liberty and tyranny." With just eleven days left before we make one of the biggest decisions in our lifetime, I beg the Obama supporters to PLEASE get to know him better. As hard as this might be for you, research all the negative rhetoric you’ve been hearing from Conservative Talk Radio. Research all the associations with radicals. Research his words from the past and present that reeks of socialism. Do you really want to “spread the wealth”? Research his voting record as a senator. Research his economic plan that preys on small business and the rich. Research what the DEMS have in mind for our 401K’s. Research his record on what many call infanticide. Research his Pastor that he followed for twenty years. What EXACTLY was Biden warning us about? Listen VERY closely to his words and his past. Listen to his wife’s words. If you can find anything with substance pertaining to his college days, research that too. Look deep into his relationship with ACORN. Look deep into his campaign relating to how much has been spent and where it’s coming from. The fact that these things can even be researched on a presidential candidate worries me. If you do this research and can honestly say this guy isn’t shaky, you’re just not being honest. If you do come to the conclusion that he might be a little dangerous, just imagine the damage that he could do with a liberal congress that’s filibuster proof! If he wins my friends, he’ll almost have complete control. Are you 100% sure you want the kind of “CHANGE” that’s possible? It’s risky to say the least. At this time I don’t think it’s worth the risk…Is it?
October 25, 200817 yr You know some of the same concerns you have about Senator Obama were even greater about President Lincoln when he was first elected.
October 25, 200817 yr You know some of the same concerns you have about Senator Obama were even greater about President Lincoln when he was first elected. Many had similar concerns when Jimmy Carter was elected. Obama is not Honest Abe.
October 25, 200817 yr Skinpig, it is extremely presumptuous of you to assume that anyone supporting Senator Obama has either not looked into his record or is not being "honest". I have looked into his record. What I find is a thoughtful, intelligent leader that I believe is just what this country needs. I have trouble understanding why anyone would vote for Senator McCain, but I also understand that different people can look at the same issues and come to different conclusions. That is why we have elections. Relax. There will be another election in four years. That advice will work for all of us, regardless of who wins.

I said "If you do this research and can honestly say this guy isn’t shaky, you’re just not being honest." That's what I said and I stand by it. If you don't think he's shaky, you didn't do the research or you are not being honest, period. I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I have found nothing in my research that tells me he is a "thoughtful, intelligent leader". What exactly was he the leader of and what were the results of his leadership? Many are simply hooked on the Obama Koolaid and will drink it no matter how bitter it gets. The last guy that sold so many on his Koolaid...Jim Jones. :scared:
October 25, 200817 yr Neither is the,"Straight Talk Express."True, but John McCain is not a socialist either.

You REALLY have NO CLUE of how much damage that WILL be done to this country with the Liberals un-checked. His supporters see the word "Change" and go goo-goo........some of the most uniformed voters I have ever read about or seen......and it amazes me how people are so un-honest with themselves...................

October 25, 200817 yr No matter which candidate we elect, we cannot all be satisfied. We can look into the records of both candidates pasts and find negatives as well as positives. Most if not all of the people who have been dead-set on Obama or McCain since the start are the people that have only listened to the positives of one candidate and the negatives of the other candidate. IMO, choosing a president is choosing the lesser of both evils. I couldnt imagine that either candidate would be everything we are loooking for....

October 25, 200817 yr So...out of curiosity, exactly what irreperable damage could Obama (himself) do in 4 years?Obama will not be inflicting irreparable damage on this country by himself. Barney Frank is already clamoring for a 25 percent cut in the military and he is also on record as saying that income tax hikes are inevitable. Other Democrats are threatening to eliminate the 401K tax deferments and expansion of Social Security. Still others are already demanding criminal investigations of Bush, Cheney, and other members of the current administration. Oh yeah, I almost forgot that the Speaker of the House is pushing for a new Fairness Doctrine to help squash political dissent. If Obama is elected, he will have a very liberal Congress at his disposal, many members of which will be pushing their own socialist agendas. The damage that Card Check and the Freedom of Choice Act will have on the moral and economic fabric of this may not be irreparable but recovery will be a long process, just as it was following the Carter I administration. Taking away workers' right to secret ballots in union elections and eliminating state abortion restrictions through federal legislation are two issues that are receiving very little scrutiny in the mainstream media but these laws, which Obama has pledged to sign if he is elected, will fundamentally change this country for the worse.
October 25, 200817 yr So...out of curiosity, exactly what irreperable damage could Obama (himself) do in 4 years? He, himself, can initiate directives that will result in wholesale abortion for any reason and at any time. As a Catholic (say what you will but you know this is not an area for self-interpretation), I am appalled at this probability. Obama's alleged church affiliation has few, if any, real moral absolutes (and that is being nice).
October 25, 200817 yr You know some of the same concerns you have about Senator Obama were even greater about President Lincoln when he was first elected. nWo----Obama is NO President Lincoln!:scared:
