Maybe an additional check would help make up for all the money I lost on stocks . . . which was SUPPOSED to be my daughters college fund.:fight::mad:

BRING IT ON AGAIN!!!

I don't like my kids or grandkids anyway...

Lol.:D

I work and 1/3 of America feeds off of others working for them while they sit at home. I'm all for the government finally giving me a check since they take so much of my money to give to those that won't get off their rears!

I just hope those people that won't get off their rears don't get another check. Would be kinda nice if some of those full time student that also work 30-40 hours a week got something this time around. Especially since their parents didn't if they were 18 or older.

To be honest though I don't think we need another failed stimulus program right now.

Ya know, I may not be an expert economist, but it seems to me that putting that much making that extra money and giving it to everyone wouldn't reduce the prices of anything, but simply decrease the value of money. So actually, completely on the contrary to what I think they would want to happen, if there is more money in circulation, then it is worth less, meaning that prices go up, therefore with the extra money no one can actually buy anything more than what they had before because they will be paying more, and we will be left with higher prices while all the money we will have already spent.

Does that sound valid or like it makes sense to anyone else?

I understand your thinking, this would be the case if they just sent out checks but never wrote it in to the national debt or accounted for that money that was being sent out. It may cause a small decrease in the value of the dollar but nothing drastic, simply because they aren't giving out free money, but rather temporarily free money, which will be paid for down the road. This isn't the exact explanation but it's essentialy what's being done.

I agree with helping college kids that are paying their own way and working. I always thought that was the people that deserved food stamps as much as anybody. They are working hard trying to get to a point to support themselves.

Honestly food stamps ha that would be amazing at this point. I'm not eating roman noodles but I don't think I could count how many eggs I've met in the past couple weeks on my fingers or toes. My cell phone bill keeps getting(for lack of better words) "jacked up", I'm sick of dealing with it. I have a loan I'm paying on, plus hundred or so a month for insurance, plus gas, yada yada. It's one of those thing where it'll be ok eventually, it's just hard right now.

How exactly do you suppose we are going to be paying for it down the road. Where is the money supporting these checks going to come from?

Tax payers, investments, the economy. As much as we'd like to we can't just disolve this debt which has just recently been created for generations to come. This debt/the national debt may never fully be paid off, atleast not in our life time, but it will be paid on, unless of course the mayan calendar is correct.

Im all for it. If they arent giving it to us, the government would waste it on something else.

Ha this is actually probably the most accurate assesment thus far, unfortunately.
