I think Fort Campbell’s schedule is just about right. However, some of their opponents who are typically better teams had down years this year. I believe the addition of Hopkinsville next year will make their schedule even better. Other then the addition of Hopkinsville, if they had to add new teams to their schedule I would vote for one or more of the following:

 

Christian County

Madisonville-North Hopkins

Lone Oak

Bowling Green

Hopkins County Central

Not in Football. We play them in other sports, baseball for example, but to my knowledge they have not played them in football since 2000 when Fort Campbell was 1-9.

Belfry= Too weak....

 

I am sure the powers to be at Belfry feel the same way.... the Pirates made every effort to improve their schedule but conflicts with dates, existing contracts, and teams generally makign the decison they did not want to play Belfry has brought the end product.

 

I felt as if it hurt Belfry last season after they fell to Lou. Central in the Finals (Belfry dominated every game on their schedule), and it may possibly hurt again.

I'm sorry to hear they won't play Trigg Co, that has turned into quite the rivarly. As far as Kenwood, they have not looked good this year and I'm not sure what the outlook is for next year. I agree with dropping Union County, but other then adding Hoptown, I'm not too thrilled with the other additions.

Since you really can't help who you play in your district, I think that it is the non-district schedule that should be evaluated.

 

That being said, I think that Mason County's schedule for the past couple of years has been about right. Paris (1A school, first game of the year both seasons), Fleming County (rivalry game/next county over), Greenup County, Bourbon County. Then throw in tough games against 6A Campbell County and Boone County; and I think you have a pretty good mix. It doesn't make a lot of sense to schedule every single game against a powerhouse; but you should schedule, if possible, at least a couple of games against better competition. And it makes sense to me to schedule a mix of teams that predominantly run, predominantly pass, or run the same schemes as likely post-season opponents.

I don't like seeing Ludlow play so many bigger schools out of district. No out of district games were against other 1A schools. IMO playing the likes of Grant County and Scott do nothing to help a program the size of Ludlow.

HC schedule is pretty tough.

Too bad if Trigg doesn't remain on the schedule, it is quite a fiesty rivalry. Last year's game had ejections from both sides and both crowds extremely vocal. Happy to hear they are playing a Clarksville, TN school so the Falcons can keep the smack-talking city schools in check. Am really surprised any Clarksville school agreed to play the Falcons after they pounded two city schools during the Clarksville Jamboree in August. Never heard of Pearl Cohn and hope it doesn't happen. The school we need back on the schedule is Lone Oak. It would be the most exciting match-up in Western KY.

IMO, the schedule for Warren Central has been poison, offering very little benefit at all.
