Palmer's season likely done in by elbow http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3662707 Bengals' Palmer likely won't return in 2008, but is delaying surgery Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer is unlikely to play another game in the 2008 season but he will delay a decision on whether to have surgery to repair a "frayed" ligament in his right throwing elbow, sources told ESPN. Palmer's injury is to one portion of the ulnar collateral ligament and he has been told that Tommy John surgery would repair the problem with positive results, the sources said. However, doctors have agreed that Palmer's conservative approach to such an operation is acceptable because the damage is more limited than what Carolina Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme suffered a year ago when he had the surgery. Sources say Palmer is using a timetable that would still allow him to have the surgery at the latest possible date, if necessary, and get back on the field by next summer, based on the opinions from doctors and Delhomme's comeback. Palmer injured the arm in a Sept. 21 game against the New York Giants. He has played only once since -- against the Cowboys on Oct. 5 -- before he began seeking numerous medical opinions.

October 25, 200817 yr Channel 5 just reported he was out for the season. I think every knew after watching the preseason there was no way CP made it through this season. October 25, 200817 yr ^ The OL has nothing to do with this its his Elbow. Funny when they talk about the injury they keep showing a play where his arm is struck by a defender causing a fumble. I don't remember hearing anything about his elbow before that. Even if you're right, CP should see it as a blessing. He is still breathing.

Broo reported that CP was putting off the surgery because he didn't want it to look like he was giving up on the team and the season. He is definetely a full fledged Bungle.
October 25, 200817 yr After having a discussion with someone who had a similar elbow injury, rest may be sufficient. With that said, a decision needs to be made fairly quickly so if CP needs surgery he can rehab in time for next year.
