October 30th Senior Dinner had to be cancelled due to Trick or Treat for the kids and I will be out of town for a board meeting. The TEAM will be eating pizza after practice Monday as the result of last weeks shut out. We will miss them not being here this week, but we will all be together the following week before the Game against West Carter.

That's a shame that they get pizza on Monday!!!! The JV team will not be there to enjoy it. They will be playing at Lewis County on Monday. I sure hope that you continue this for the boys that will be Seniors next year. I know they work hard to.

This is the problem I have. No one asked Cathy and me to have the seniors over for dinner. This is done for unity and memories together as a class, not for selfish reasons on our part. Ever since this was started, underclassmen and parents have complained. Now, people are ASKING for it to continue. Something special is just received, not asked for and complained about. I was hoping to start a tradition and help make memories for all kids, as they became seniors and earned it. Monday pizza is a team thing, I wasn't aware that JV didn't get to eat until last week. The pizza was earned on Friday which is a varsity game. When the boys are Varsity only, I guess they'll get pizza. I will say that this was something I was enjoying until I heard of the jealousy and complaing. I am not sure if this will go past this year at this point. I am very disappointed with the attitudes. No need to apologize, it is not just you bringing this 'stuff' up.:irked:

Doc for whatever it's worth and I don't have a child as as player or anything to do with it. I just wanted to say that I think that you and your wife are doing a very good thing for our guys. I don't know how it was originally set up, who or what it was for or anything. I don't know who or how many are there but I do feel that there is absolutely no leaving any one group out or slighting anyone on purpose from your family.

Raceland players, fans and everyone involved have always been a family and stayed away for the most part from all the internal bickering. That imo is one reason for the sucsess that Raceland football has enjoyed. I have seen other schools get their programs torn apart by all the inside bickering between one another or one group and another. I don't think that Raceland will but I certainly hope that it doesn't even get close to that point. I think that any further post on anything to do with it would only add to it so I will refrain.

 

I just wanted to post one more time to say thank you for what you and your wife are doing, you certainly don't have to. Again, I am saying that as a person that as no child or anyone on the team. As a matter of fact, even though I want to and am sure that I will, I have never met you or your wife.

Just some comments from this oldambler that is neutral to this aspect of the pre game dinners and I just think that it is a good thing that you are doing.

Thanks, Oldrambler. I guess I am just shocked and a little offended. I try my darndest to be there for everyone and we just wanted to set the seniors apart. They have earned it and all senior classes will earn it too, but to be expectant.......well, I'll refrain, too.

Thanks, You and I have been out there and know what its like to go to battle with our buddies. I wish we had parents or fans that would have done this for us. Heck, we'd both weigh more than we do now.....yikes!!!!
