 pretty embarassing.. hype it up CCH24!

I wish I understood the pleasantries here. I support everyone on CovCath's baseball squad and am close friends with them all. Not just Brandon Lafever. I support Darner, Maile, Holocher, Nutini, and everyone else.

lol.

Agreed, fun is fun but be serious.

I don't think Lafever is a top 10 player, or anything outstanding by any means, but he isn't THAT bad. I mean TBH CCH had a bigger problem than him last year, he actually did a decent job at what his role was. I don't know the kid, but if he does read this, it's a bit mean for people to poke so much fun. =/

He's not "bad" at all. In fact, he's absolutely a good player. He's just not one of the top 10 players in NKY is all. ;)

Ryan "Big Game" Sainola should have a big year for the Birds!

I heard he is throwing up some weight this winter. The Birds will need his arm this Spring.

He throws hard but has no control at all. I hope he has a good season for ya'll and learns to place the ball better. If he does he will be a real solid pitcher!

Just an opinion from my past experience but bulking up doesnt really help as it relates to pitching. Light weight and more reps builds strength and does not bulk you up. Workouts should consist of building core strength, flexibility, legs, and cardio.

:thumb: Light weight and more reps. The focus is put on your core strength and your legs. They don't want you to bulk up in the weight room. They want you to do low weight, lots of repitition.

where in his post does he says that he's bulking up? He could be throwing up 50's on the incline bench. Oh, and bulk and strength are great for lower half stuff.....throwing up a bunch of weight on squat is excellent for a pitcher

Yeah, his role was to bunt guys over and he usually did a pretty good job of that. In the infield he did decent. It was no secret that CCH's weakness was their middle infield. So 2nd and Short..but as the season progressed he seemed to get a bit better with it. Should be solid this year.

"throwing up some weight" implies that he is bulking up. I mean when you think of someone "throwing up some weight" do you think of them power lifting 50 pounds? lol...I don't know what kind of weight program Bird is on, but if pitching is what his focus is on, hopefully it is NOT heavy lifting.

I was generalizing here...I was looking at throwing up weight as bench pressing, and that "usually" means heavier weights. He's good already but could really be good if he can hit spots. There are a few pitchers in NKY this year that fall in that same category.
