Deal Or No Deal?

Featured Replies

So, Romo was my fantasy QB. Since he got hurt, I went QB hunting. A guy in my league offered me Eli Manning AND Ronnie Brown for Brandon Jacobs (I have him now). Im sure this is a dumb question to ask, but I need to take this deal, right?

Yes. And also tell him you would like some of whatever he is drinking.

Ronnie Brown may or may not continue his success. Jacobs will probably be solid throughout the rest of the year.

Who are your other running backs?

If you have another couple of good running backs, in case Ronnie Brown gets injured or starts drift off...I'd take the deal.

Also, unless your league has a trade deadline, you could always dump Romo when he gets back for another good RB.

I would take it since you need a QB.

Brown is up and down.

So you trading Eli for Jacobs mostly.

Lets hear the rest of your team first.

It's hard to say what you should do without knowing what else you have, IMO.

I don't think it matters what the rest of your team looks like.

You have to take that deal.

If I took the trade, my starters would look like this:

QB Eli Manning

RB Adrian Peterson

RB Ronnie Brown

RB/WR Ryan Grant

WR LV Coles

WR Brandon Stokely

TE Greg Olsen

D/ST Jets or Jags

K Nate Kaeding

What do you have on the bench?

Lendale White

Santonio Holmes

Mushin Muhammad

Carson Palmer

Tony Gonzalez

Matt Bryant

Jets/Jags Defense

Take the trade. Eli will fill in nicely for Romo, and then you'll have a QB decision to make on a weekly basis when Romo comes back.

Ronnie Brown is just as good, if not better, than Brandon Jacobs. I like Jacobs a lot, but Ronnie Brown is a stud this year and was a stud last year until he got hurt. With the new plays in Miami, Ronnie Brown is going to get the ball a lot, too.

And I'd recommend dropping Matt Bryant, as I think he's a kicker. Go ahead and drop him and pick up an RB with potential - somebody who could get an opportunity & tear things up, but just need the #1 RB to go down (for example, Jamaal Charles from KC or Dominic Rhodes from Indy).

Kaeding is normally a great choice at K. At least he was when LT and the Chargers were shredding defenses. I don't know what he's done thus far, but I still think Kaeding is one of the top fantasy kickers.

There's no reason to have another K on the roster until the Chargers' bye week. When that happens, I typically drop my worst player and pick up another kicker for a week.

But then again, I had Shayne Graham in my lineup this weekend and he wasn't even active. :D That's what setting your lineup on Thursday will do to ya.
