I am pressed for words as to the performance of the Black Cats, This was once a program I had the utmost respect for. Today they showed a side I never hope to see again in HS Football. Chop blocks not by one guy, but the entire line, at once . This with the obvious intent to injure was, can only be called from the side line , a planned delibrate attemtpt to injure someone and thier play throughout the game obviosly echoed this.

Shame on you Blackcats, shame on your coach.

Keeping there first team in when Beechwood had there third was again proof to me of this!

The big suprise to me was why did P'burg play their starters the whole game? B-Wood started to sub early in the 3rd quarter and yet P'burg didn't sub at all. What happens if someone get's hurt and is lost for the season because you wanted to make the score respectable? Maybe I'm wrong on this issue but I think some of the underclassmen from P'burg could have gained some valuable playing time in the 2nd half that may help them the rest of this year or even next year! Just my opinion.

 

Cov. Cath. left their starters in against Highlands 2's after Cov. Cath was losing 55 - 0 at the half. It should be an agreement with the coaches but if not it really doesn't matter if you don't put the 2's and they keep scoring.

Why because there good? Still one of the smallest high schools in the state. Untill enrollment increases thier where they belong. Or maybe we should just get it over with and send them right to 6a. That will teach them a lesson for being successful!

There are many reasons to leave the starters in, one being they need the work. BWD subs to keep people healthy and season younger players. It only helps the younger BWD players when other teams dont sub in against them. Leave your best in, it only makes BWD better next year.

 

The post about moving up is a good idea.... but lets limit the number of kids that can dress on the other team to even the field, or better yet just let the JV team play the whole varsity game instead of just a half. Hey thats it move everybody up. Most of the varsity players at BWD are taking AP classes anyway can we get some Div. III schools on the schedule.

Never mind, bad idea, our eighth graders cant play varsity sports. the only answer is to abolish football at BWD.

On the moving up part,:cry: .Why should one of the smallest schools in the state move up? Because they win too much ?I am sure alot of schools that do not work as hard would love to see this,then they may have a chance.There are some other schools that win most of the games they play .Should Mayfield move up ?What about LCA,they are winning most of there games now?Hazard is no slouch,should they ?Raceland is back in winning form ,do they need to move up now?

You are EXACTLY right.

 

It's no excuse (in regard to ranking considerations), but Prestonsburg's line is young and hasn't seen a solid opposing unit this season (until yesterday).

 

Absolutely NOTHING works on either side of the ball when a team gets outclassed in the trenches. I'm hoping the manhandling they experienced yesterday serves to show them where they are now and where they need to be by season's end.
