People are WAAAYYYY overestimating Holmes. Yes, they are loaded and last year started several underclassmen. But in noy way will they be able to repeat last year. This team was very undisciplined, and the glue (and coach on the floor) was Arez Henderson. Not enough was publicized of what he meant to this team This is more of a loss than Mason losing Darius.

In general, 99% of all high school players are good and terrific kids.

You have no mention of Dunbar in the tp 25. Dunbar is a very good team. I believe they are easily a top 10 team.

 

You are right and I am way late on this discusssion, but didn't mean to slight Dunbar they fell off my radar screen for some reason. I would have them in the 16-20 range somewhere. Scott County is the #1 team in the 11th region and state. After that the #2 argument would include Dunbar, Tates Creek, Lexington Catholic, Franklin County, and Madison Central. Personally I would put Franklin County at #2, Lexington Catholic #3, Tates Creek #4, Dunbar #5, and #6 Madison Central. Tates Creek has a lot of talented young guys and will be really good for several more years.

Franklin County is the #2 team in the region Maybe #1 and only behind Scott Co. because they reloaded. I don't see any teams able to beat them. They've returned all the players from last year and almost beat Scott last year. They will win the region!

I agree. Christian Co, led by Shaq Wilson, will IMO be at Rupp this year.

Thanks for the info...I think many of us don't include some teams from the Western part of the state , because we don't see them play much and there are more posters form the central and eastern part of the state that post here.

I saw them play a few times this summer and was impressed with their point guard. Even though I have typed his name several times I forgot at...lol. They also had a nice player that played out on the floor who looked to be about 6-5. I don't know that they re a top 10 team, but they are dangerous

If I had to take a stab at it, I'd have my top 10 something like this:

Region 1 ... no obvious favorite and no obvious top-25 candidate

 

Region 2 ... Christian County could be the best team in the western part of the state (regions 1-4) ... the Colonels are deep, athletic and talented ... Madisonville has Hood, but he's the only returning starter

 

Region 3 ... Owensboro got Darnell Davis, a 6-4 transfer from Hopkinsville, to go with what was already the makings of a solid team ... coaching change clouds the picture a bit

 

Region 4 ... I'm not very well-informed about this region, but I hear that Warren Central is on the way back up after a rebuilding year
