Of the above four I would rank them:

Dunbar (maybe interchangeable)

Lexington Catholic

Madison Central

 

I believe to start out Franklin County and Dunbar should be in the 9 to 14 range and Lexington Catholic 15 to 25. Then the proof will be in who stays healthy during the season. (and catches a few breaks)

I would agree with this, except I think Tates Creek maybe a little better than Madison Central.

People are WAAAYYYY overestimating Holmes. Yes, they are loaded and last year started several underclassmen. But in noy way will they be able to repeat last year. This team was very undisciplined, and the glue (and coach on the floor) was Arez Henderson. Not enough was publicized of what he meant to this team This is more of a loss than Mason losing Darius.

I have read as well that Tates Creek has a lot of good young talent.

Dunbar isn't top 10 at all. They only return Hudson, Rogers, 1 Webb, and Clay. this team doesn't stand a chance. SC, Franklin County, are the best two teams in the region!

I vehemently disagree with you here. They are a mid pack 11th region team until they prove they can beat teams like Dunbar, Lex Cath, Scott Co., Bryan Station. Some have even referred to them as the weak sister of the 11th. It's sort of like this well known coach in Lexington told me once,"it just ain't gonna happen at Franklin County".

The last two times Franklin played Scott County, including this summer, it was tied or 2 pts. in the last minute but Scott County could seal the deal and Franklin County didn't. I believe all ten games would be very competitive, but Franklin County has not proven that they can actually beat them...but when they do, I hope it is in the regional tourney:thumb:.

 

As well, Dunbar is either two or three to start out in the region. Just since they lost a couple of starters, it is an open question as to who steps in. For all I know they could be even better than last year. The only thing with Dunbar, is that they haven't figured out how to beat Lexington Catholic yet.

I for one don't know if Holmes can repeat what they did last year but there's no doubt about it that they are one of the top 2-3 teams in the state, talent wise.

 

Last year's team was one of the most disciplined teams Holmes has seen in quite some time, but it wasn't all because of Henderson...like Henley has said time after time ; " These are all great kids...both on and off the court." That's the difference between last year's team and teams from the past.

 

Henderson was a big loss but you also have to remember...Holmes is in a stage of reloading...not rebuilding. The addition of Housley will be the difference maker this year with the loss of Henderson and they also have two, if not three of the top 10-15 juniors in the state in the Johnson Brothers and Pittman.

I do agree that Scott Co is the 11th region favorite and the heavy favorite to win state. They have the best coaching, best facilities, best community support, and are able to consistently reload their talent.

 

They also have the best fundraiser in the state as many across the state help Scott Co with the Toyota car raffle.

I tend to agree with this statement, but there are also some other scary good teams out there this year including Manual, J'town, GRC, as well as Elliot Co.

 

Holmes without a doubt has one of the most athletic, and talented teams in the state but they have to be willing to work as hard as last year's team because as NCC showed last year against Holmes, talent doesn't always beat out hard work.
