Yeah, that's a good call on another recent fad I don't understand. I can think of only two ways to adequately describe how those look — either "very French" or "very effeminate."

The faux hawk gives of a "I like to interior decorate but still be a punk rocker" feel

Okay time to get on my soapbox. If you want to adorn the mullet as an adult and face ridicule from society, be my guest. But stop cutting your 6 year olds hair that way! That's a minor form of child abuse!

Mohawks are much more cool...

Maybe if you're independently wealthy enough to be able to thumb your nose at everyone else. While both are equally ridiculous, you can at least hold a straight job with a mullet. The only places you might be able to get a regular job with a Mohawk would be at an independent record store, a head shop or a tattoo parlor.

Myself, I can't take anyone seriously who sports either hairdo. All I can do is laugh, and wonder to myself, "what the hell was I thinking?"

So you gotta tell us Jim, which did you have at one time ?

I'm going with the Mullet. I bet little Jim Schue had a mullet around the ages of 7-10.

I'll tell one on myself...

I had a rat tail once. I also had the Nike Swoosh in the back of my hair when I was in the 4th grade:lol:

Mullets were down in the late 80's. The problem is a ton of people still think its the 80's.

Right in conjunction with the hair metal fad. :thumb:

For the record, I loathe hair metal.

I had my mullet in the late 80's early 90's when I was around the ages of 3-6.

The problem with mullets is that those who sport them think they have a perfectly legitimate, if not top-notch, haircut. I think anyone who wears a mohawk has had at least a tacit confession that what they are doing is a bit ridiculous.

You've gotta love some hair metal. Motley and Ratt are two of my faves.

No, I don't. Although I thank hair metal for helping me to discover hip-hop and college rock/alt-rock, and explore more punk music.

I didn't mind Motley Crue too much -- the first two albums were pretty solid, actually. But they opened the door for a whole slew of awful bands -- Winger, Warrant, Poison, etc. -- that made hard rock all but unlistenable.
