All right, most on this board would recognize by my posts that I like the underdog. On the subject of smaller guards being effective against taller opponents, there is a kid by the name of Deron Hicks that is only 6', that might be the best defensive guard in the 11th region. I doubt many of you have seen him play. He is cat quick and pretty darn good on the offensive end as well. Football is his primary sport and probably his favorite. If he sets his mind to it he will be as good as he wants to be.

I agree. I believe he is very talented and athletic. I didn't see him play any this summer when I watched Franklin Co. though. I assume he was concentrating on football. He is a very good guard.

I wouldn't count Jordan Hickman from Bardstown out of the mix when you look at the best guards in the state. He is a smooth left handed guard that can take it to the hole or shoot the three. He opened a few eyes this summer in the auu circuit. He is ranked second in the 5th and I wouldn't count him out to be #1 by end of season

Yes he is. Franklin County should have very balanced backcourt and frontcourt. Their top 6 players include 3 guards (1 football) and 3 big men (1 football).
