Well for starters Simpson is a junior. He rushed 24 times for 346 yards and four touchdowns in one game. Simpson has 58 touches for 715 yards which averages 12.3 yards a carry. Does Roenker have stats that even come close to that?

Well, this is his first year as a RB, he is a Junior, and he ran for 140 yards on 12 carries in the first quarter and a half of his career aganist a very good South Laurel team until he got hurt. He is back this week for the first time since then.

Head to head, give me Andy Roenker head on vs anyone in NKY. I mean if you watched the South Laurel game you saw the emergance of a great player. If you think he isn't in the same class as Miles then you are sadly, sadly mistaken.

Trust me I'm not saying he can't hit I know he can. :ylsuper: I am just saying watch out for Andy, this kid is 215lbs of muscle and will deliver the hit moving forward, just watch the way he runs aganist Newcath. He plays as hard as anyone on the field.

On the other hand, Roenker is something special, and I would definatley rank him with Simpson... probably higher... You just have not seen Roenker yet because of his injury but this week you will see the Roenker that just flat out runs like a mad man. I am giving Roenker a HUGE week against NCC if his line provides him the proper holes, which will be tough with NewCath's huge defensive linemen, but it will happen.

Holy Cross has played ncc tough the past two years, beating them two years ago, and it has been because the defense has played pretty solid. Last year the offense wasn't even close talent wise to this year's and that's what Holy Cross has been lacking the past 2 or 3 meetings....I think it will be a close game and could go either way near the end, but then again jmo

 

Where have you been? Last year was a talented team, I would say more talented. You have the team this year that played last yr. plus R. Walker, P. Moore, Oldiges, Reardon, West. All of which are good solid players. Last year there was some issues with how to coach the "O". Last year they shoud have went from the shotgun. I'll put any of these player against HC best this year.

Yessss!!! Great debate on Simpson-Roenker! Now that is the kind of stuff these threads are all about. They are both special backs.

 

Now let's get a debate going on HC WR's vs NCC WR's and HC QB vs NCC QB.

There's no debating HC secondary vs NCC secondary...HC wins this, hands down.

 

Overall defense...NCC's team intensity give them the edge.

I believe the only way to beat NCC right now is if you can throw it around, I don't see that happening.

Yes. Holy Ccross has to test the durability of the NCC secondary. HC has to be the aggressor min this game.

Is anyone else upset that this is a Saturday afternoon game? Usually not as many people go to those and for a big game, you would think it would be a Friday or Saturday night. Just don't think you will see as good of an atmosphere as there could be.

Funny since Morrison graduated in 2001. Simpson on the other hand had 85yds on like 9 carries. My public school math tells me he should have carried the ball like 30 times with over a 9yd per carry average.

 

Are you serious??? You didn't see the game. Almost of all Simpson's yards came in 2 drives in the 4th quarter w/ NewCat's starters on the bench.
