September 11, 200818 yr After Biden's comment about not being the best choice for VP, you have to wonder....... However, if he steps aside, and Hillary is selected it may come across as an act of desperation.
September 11, 200818 yr I said in another thread that I would not be shocked if Hillary is back on the ticket before the election but I would put the odds at less than 50-50. If Obama is going to pull the plug on Biden he better do it soon because his campaign is taking on a look of desperation. Changing running mates will make Obama look very weak although with Biden's history of brain aneurysms, it would not be too hard to make his withdrawal for health reasons plausible. If Obama waits much longer to pull the trigger, Hillary may decide she can't save him and decide to let him go down in flames to improve her chances in 2012.

But history will probably remember him primarily as a vice presidential candidate for 18 days. He was in his first term as a senator from Missouri when the presidential candidate, Senator George McGovern, asked that he join him on the Democratic ticket. Mr. Eagleton was a last-minute selection; Mr. McGovern had been counting on Senator Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts to change his mind and become his running mate once Mr. McGovern received the presidential nomination at the Democratic National Convention in Miami Beach. September 11, 200818 yr Interesting theory. You get Obama in a private setting, I bet he wishes he would have begged Clinton to join the team. It may end up costing him the election. I imagine the Clintons are loving every second of this right now. They are probably waiting for the invite just to decline and laugh in his face.
