So this year we'll give OSU's BCS bid to a more deserving school, seeing how they've been waxed their last two BCS games, right? At least the BEast wins their BCS games when they play in them.

 

So..........what the heck does that have to do with my post/statement? OSU was not mentioned at all but if the usual and lame/predictable OSU bashing on a thread that has absolutely nothing to do with OSU wants to pitch in then I would say that if OSU were at 6 wins or less then they would not be deserving of a bowl. That was the question in the original thread topic. Now, if OSU has all of a sudden moved into the Big East this week then that is different, this thread stated Big East (or this season Big Least) and 6 wins. Nice try at an OSU shot though. :lol:

 

Should you want to add a comment that has nothing to do with anything in this one..here is another for you....How many NC games has U.L. been in? How many National Title have they won? One could be w/o any fingers or toes and count up that total. People that are fans of schools that have never won anything imo would have more credibility in what they posted about teams/schools that have if they had ever won something.....Oh, that's right.....they haven't.

Nowhere in the BCS selection procedures does it mention NCAA standards for BCS bowl qualification. Since the standards for determining automatic bid qualification changed with this season and those specific standards are not listed anywhere, there is no way to guarantee that the Big East even has an automatic bid this year at all. My suspicion is that if this scenario arises, the selection process can be manipulated, as the BCS sees fit, to deny the Big East Champ from an automatic bid to a BCS bowl, at the very least, or eliminate them from even appearing in a BCS bowl period.

I quoted the part of your post that was talking about more deserving schools getting a BCS bid...OSU has wasted their last two BCS bids, therefore it clearly has something to do with the statement I quoted. You're right UL, hasn't been to an NC game, forgive them for not having done so their first 4 years in a BCS league. They also havent been embarrassed on national TV two years in a row, leading to nationwide questioning as to why they continue to be invited to the big games...I'd rather my team not be schooled, twice, than to be playing in another bowl game.

Your school gets enough education in the regular season so it doesn't need to be schooled (as you like to say) in post season. It is pretty safe to say that you will get your wish because in your lifetime the team you support will never play for a NC title.

Same here. I also don't see what this has to do with the topic. Last I checked OSU wasn't in the Big East.

Just checked and it was North Texas. They went in to the 2001 New Orleans Bowl with a 5-6 record.

That would hold true for a non-BCS bowl and it's contract with the Sun Belt Conference. However, the Big East does not have a tie-in with any BCS bowl, like the Big 10, Big 12, SEC, PAC 10, and ACC do. Those conferences are guarenteed a BCS bid because of their contracts with the Rose, Fiesta, Sugar, and Orange Bowls. With the new guidelines for qualifying for an automatic bid, the Big East may in big trouble in 2009 or 2010, if they can't place teams high in the polls by this year end.

Until we lose a BCS game I don't know that you can claim the Big East doesn't deserve its slot.
