I agree. Rotate North and South Laurel and perhaps Whitley and Knox, Williamsburg and Somerset. Make Bell a perminant fixture each season. It would increase local interest and really be great financially for all involved. I can not see why these Coaches do not get together and work through some of this. Look at Northern Kentucky and take notes from them. It seems like they have a solid gameplan for their scheduling and their teams are doing well in the post season.

 

I know McCreary has added Lynn Camp, Wayne Co, and Scott Co TN. to their schedule and as I said earlier, wanted to keep W-burg on the schedule again for week 2 and tried to get Onieda on the schedule as well just for that reason (economics).

My opinion is: W-burg is losing most of their stud lineman, QB and receivers and will begin a rebuilding process in 09. MC returns all of their skilled players, including Watts and Roark and lose 3 starting lineman and only 3 starting "D" players. I think the Jackets see the writing on the wall and don't care to play MC in a year that would most likely see them on the other end of things. Again, that is just my opinion and I though MC would win this game so obviously I am wrong sometimes!:sssh:

 

Wburg does not lose their OB...They do have three lineman and and one receiver that will be missed...The writing on the wall is Wburg will be decent next year and Jerry Herron is not afraid to play McCreary Co :lol:...

All I can say is this: if W-burgs schedule is more difficult next year I will say OK they thought they could find a harder opponent. However, me knowing for a 100% fact that Coach Herron and the W-burg AD was contacted many times about re-scheduling and they never even responded at all. Why not just tell the Mccreary staff hey we have decided to go a different way next year. That would have been the descent thing to do. The way W-burg's staff handled the situation makes everyone think that they are ducking and dodging, Don't bring me a mule and try to sell me a horse. The good Lord give me a brain and plenty of common sense and most of the times things are just as they seem to be. It's really kind of funny, some on here have blasted W'burg for playing MC all those years when MC was terrible and after beating MC's two best teams ever (2007-2008) , we are getting slack for moving on...

I understand the gripe that you get for beating McCreary when they were terrible, but if you really wanted a better schedule and tougher teams and you know that is were McCreary is headed, by your own statements about their two best teams, then why take them off the schedule?

Understood...Let's just wait and see who comes back on the schedule...JMO but I would prefer another good Class A team similar to Frankfort...

I seriously doubt that Williamsburg is not scheduling McCreary because they are afraid of them. Even with McCreary's 2 best teams ever the Jackets have defeated them. Also how strong will McCreary be after Watts graduates next season? Most contracts are for 2 years. Looking back the 1A Jackets have defeated the much larger McCreary 8 straight times dating back to 2001--I don't think they fear losing to the Raiders.

I agree with AverageJoesGym, after next year McCreary will more than likely be down after Watts leaves and to sign a two year deal if you are wanting to get a tougher schedule is not smart. But thats McCrearys problem, everything pretty much hinges on how well Watts does( basketball, football, baseball) which is a great mark for how good of a athelete he is, but not for depth for McCreary Central.

Another question. If McCreary is that much stonger over previous seasons shouldn't they be looking to add some schools closer to their own size. This year's non-district schedule includes 5 1A teams and 3A Leslie. Oneida and Lynn Camp are both very small schools as well. If they're ready to step up in competition why not try to add one or more of the 3 schools in Pulaski County, one of the Laurels or Whitley County? Those schools are all very close and much better competition than Pineville, Oneida, Clinton Co and Harlan?

The Jackets missing "D" players, seems like I heard that last year. The Raiders had almost 300 yards of offense in the first half and trailed the Jackets so that ruins the big play theory because obviously they moved the ball without scoring. After saying that, MC had a couple of big plays but that is what happens when you get 3 yards here 8 yards there, then bang you get a 65 or 40 yard score. That is a sign of a good offense. Oh wait, that is exactly how the Jackets did it a couple of times in this game, good job W-burg "O".

 

I was told that W-burg was trying to pick up Allen Central I think............anyway it was a huge step down from MC. I guess we can see who is on the schedule next year and then we can talk about a stronger or weaker schedule.

33 is Daniel Pettite; he is a junior wr/te for WHS.

There's nothing "Petite" about him. Will he play college ball? From what I saw he looked very good. Many teams had a lot of trouble covering him at UK.
