Great defense by the Cards tonight. Way to go D.:thumb: Ryan William was the player of the game for GRC. Andrew Dini had another good showing at QB. Coach Columbia put in the reserves in the 3rd quarter. Menchen took over at QB and passed to Sophomore Chris Gipson for a TD. Jarron Thomas also had a great game.

 

The Cards have yet to be scored on this year. Great start for the Cards, with two road wins. They are on the road again next week againt Tates Creek.

Ryan Williams, who rushed for 238 yards in George Rogers Clark’s 19-0 shutout over Montgomery County in the Cardinals’ season-opener last week, rushed for 229 yards in a 44-0 shutout over Harrison County Friday night.Williams picked off where he left off on the Cards’ first possession with an 89-yard punt return that set the tone for the remainder of the contest. In addition to his first touchdown, Williams had a 63-yard score, giving Clark a 21-0 lead with 23.8 seconds left in the first quarter.

 

It was Williams who provided the chunk of Clark’s yardage on the ground, quarterback Andre Dini and receiver Jarran Thomas provided a 1-2 punch through the air. Dini completed 6-of-12 for 111 yards and two touchdowns and one interception. Thomas caught both of Dini’s touchdowns and hauled in five passes for 111 yards and two scores.

 

Clark held Harrison to minus 41 yards rushing and 97 through the air.

Franklin Co. scored 72 last week and was shutout last night. Talk about 2 extremes!

I knew I was going to get that answer but I saw Harrison play last week right before I saw GRC and I don't see how they put up a shutout. I guess that pass happy offense got shaky.

It did rain all last night on the hill.

I wasn't at the game but I talked to some people from GRC that went and I was told the GRC blitzed and put alot of pressure on Van Issac.

I was under the impression that Harrison had to play all of their games away this year due to the building of a new facility. Is this not the case now and has the new complex been put on hold???

All games are to be held at the Hilltop, I had heard otherwise as well from Ray Graham.

The school did buy a brand new scoreboard. .... Don't know why they would play all their games away from current site. The new field is being constructed to the right of the first-base line where the baseball field is. ....

The old scoreboard was ruined by the tornado. The new field is across from the middle school. The state shot down the original plans for the new field.

Wow Congrats to GRC, thought this one would be a lot closer.
