Well, considering Raceland is ranked #3 in 1A I'd say that was worth noting.

And Pikeville had a nominee for Mr. Kentucky Football.

Seems like you don't give much credit to 1A schools. Ashland played two very good 1A programs. Raceland is very good, no matter what class, and Pikeville is not as good as normal this year - new head coach, and all new OL/DL.

 

I really don't get the class thing, Highlands is a very good program they are 3A by size but won the 5A state championship last year. I would say that Beechwood, LCA, and Hazard could beat a lot of 2A, 3A, 4A, and 5A teams, and they are all 1A.

I see where you are coming from. Hazard has a very good team from what I've heard. We also play them this year.

There are quality teams all over the state that will beat larger teams. Harzard, LCA, Raceland, Beechwood are all 1A. NCC, Fort Campbell, Belfry, and Russell are all teams that can and will beat bigger teams. I just don't think about the classes until the playoffs come around.

 

Raceland has always played and will continue to play schools that are much bigger, we never say that we should loose, nor do we expect to loose to bigger schools, we just play the game and expect to win. I don't see how that is any different then other schools, small or large. And, I am pretty sure that the bigger schools never say, "Great we are playing Raceland, this will be an easy week for us because we are bigger then them".

Belfry has already done so by beating Louisville Holy Cross, but they struggled with Lawrence County.

Nice win for the Tomcats.

 

I'm very surprised at the final from this one. I thought Ashland would win, but not by this much.

 

Pikeville must have lost a ton of talent from last season.
