Harmon is an above average high school running back when he gets some help up front, but if a 5'8" tailback from eastern Kentucky is ever a serious candidate for Mr. Football then this state is very, very low on talent.

 

I think the last RB from Eastern Kentucky to get serious attention was the kid from Evarts that Coach (Billy) Musick coached...can't think of his name though!

Seems like you don't give much credit to 1A schools. Ashland played two very good 1A programs. Raceland is very good, no matter what class, and Pikeville is not as good as normal this year - new head coach, and all new OL/DL.

 

I really don't get the class thing, Highlands is a very good program they are 3A by size but won the 5A state championship last year. I would say that Beechwood, LCA, and Hazard could beat a lot of 2A, 3A, 4A, and 5A teams, and they are all 1A.

 

Why can't people just say that a team got beat by a good team, instead of adding the class size?

 

:thumb: Absolutely, there have been a couple on here in the past as well as this year that I have read going on and on about getting beat by a 1A program.

I know that Raceland is not the only good 1A football team/program around and certainly there have been and are other class A programs that have been better than Raceland that could handle a lot of bigger schools. Maybe we (Raceland) and other class A schools should just automatically throw up the "well, they are a so much bigger school" excuse everytime that we get beat by one of the bigger schools.

That is one thing that gets me, I haven't seen a lot of comlaining here or by other class A schools when they get beat by another (larger school) team.....other than maybe "we played terrible" and deserved to lose bc of the way that we played. when my team gets beat, I am usually mad bc I hate to lose. All that I can do though is to admit the loss without excuses and give the other team credit.

Every now and then teams lose bc the opponet was a better football team (imagine that:eek:), if not then they would just go out for the coin toss, show a paper that has the enrollment numbers and class sizes for their school.....the bigger school wins and no use to play the game.

One reason why the bigger schools are scheduled is bc we want to play the bigger schools, the Raceland admin. feels that a strong schedule can only make you a stronger team come playoff time. I have seen a lot of "bigger" schools play other "bigger" schools that were not close to as good as an LCA, Beechwood, Hazard, Pkevlle, Raceland, etc..

 

Should Raceland get beat it is bc the other team was better or at least was the better team on that paticular night and not bc of the size of the school . End of story. No Excuses.
