Agreed. Corbin always scores points, and he's the best at playing keep away. I have seen him run a play knowing its not going to work, just to set you up for the next 2. Coach Farris is always looking ahead. As for a prediction, I say:

Corbin 28

KC 7

I'm a Redhound fan, but if I remember correctly Corbin put up some goose eggs in their first few games. One at Belfry last year and one at Danville the year before that and there has been others. But there is no doubt about it, we have the talent to put up points if it is utilized in the right way.

Knox Central is no joke anymore. As they say about UK, "This ain't your Daddy's Kentucky", well "This ain't your Daddy's Knox Central." I think Corbin has an advantage on the lines and in overall talent though. KC has some fine talent especially the Carnes kid but without a passing game and with Corbin's run D, I think you will see the Hounds pull this one out. I'm thinking something along the lines of 34-21 or 34-14. I'm leaning towards 21 for KC because I feel one of the backs will break a big one on the Hounds.

You are correct about the Gooseggs. In defense of the situation, Belfry's varsity D did that to everyone except Louisville Central in the state finals, and If I remember correctly, that year at Danville Cashen got hurt and it limited our options offensively for that game. Who were we playing that day? I know it wasn't Danville, maybe Southwestern Pulaski?

Year in and year out, I am more concerned about our defense being able to stall out drives, than I am our offense scoring enough to win. Just my observation...

Yep, it was Southwestern that beat Corbin. I'm thinking it was something like 17-3 maybe? The next year Rock won 2-0. Then last season, Belfry won 21-0. One thing people fail to realize about last years game was how many times Corbin was down in the redzone only to turn it over or have stupid penalties cost them. Also some of Belfry had some Big plays go for TD's. I know it's over and done with and I'm not whining about it because on that night the best team one. However, Corbin and Belfry would have been a whale of a game towards the end of last season. I think those two teams were very close.

If there is a pattern, I like Corbin's chances this year.

2005- first game scored 3, went on to average 28.7 ppg the final 11 games.

2006- first game scored 0, went on to average 31.4 ppg the final 12 games.

2007- first game scored 0, went on to average 40 ppg the final 12 games.

if we have the same improvement this year from first game to last, the Hounds may average 80 ppg ;)

Corbin will win this game for one BIG reason, it is the Pigskin Classic. The Hounds do not lose this game, and certainly not against Knox Central.

Corbin 35

Knox Central 20

But it won't be that close, Knox will score some late meaningless TDs.

Corbin has lost in the Pigskin before. In 2005 they lost to Pikeville 34 to 0. But I do believe that the Hounds will be fired up for this one.

Corbin will not score over 28 points on offense against Knox. As long as KC hangs on to the ball I will say Corbin 21 KC 14.

On my opinion, I think Corbin is going to pull this one off. The only chance KC has is if they can shut down Corbins running game. With the three headed monsters in the backfield I doubt KC will win. I'm pulling for the hounds. 26-14. GO HOUNDS!!!

Yes you are right but over all this is a venue that they most comfortable in, they are almost unbeatable in the Pigskin.

Corbin 28

Knox 21

I understand that next year's Cumberland Falls Pigskin Classic will include Danville, Boyle Co., Middlesboro and Corbin. Is this finalized?

3 heavy weights for sure. M'boro on the other hand will be the easy game for D'ville or Boyle.

Corbin 28-14.
