# 27 Kim should be returning kicks he has good speed. # 13 Collins learning curve he should get better with time. With all the turn overs Newport had the defence was on the field all night and they gave the Tigers great field position. It could be another long year for the Cats.

 

I would assume that Kim & Carter are 2 of the top fastest guys on the team. I'm sure the coaches have a reason for this. I assume Price is still returning kickoffs. He did a great job at that last year. Collins may get better with time. However, Newport needs to establish a running game to set up the passing game. If your passing game is not that good, the defense can key on your running plays and will shut you down. Defenses will take chances, recognize your running pattern and shut down your offense.

I was checking through Bellevue's roster today and I didn't notice any Seniors on there. Does Bellevue not have any seniors this season?

 

Roster at the Newport game was incorrect. There are about 17 seniors.

Yeah that's what I was going by. I thought to myself - Bellevue will be even stronger next season too.

Congrats to the entire Coaching staff and the Tiger Team. Thanks for bringing home that big "W" and for the fight song. Awesome Job! All of that summer conditioning paid off.

Good win for Bellevue to come back in the second half after being down 6-0 at half. Newport had some costly turnovers in the second half giving Bellevue good field position. Both teams made some first game mistakes, but overall was a well played game. The two backs for Bellevue are fairly small but run the ball hard. Good game to both teams.

Buckler had 112 yds on 22 carries with two touchdowns... It would appear he is going to be a sort of bad year and proves to be overrated this year with a sub-par first game ... Congrats to Bellevue and Buckler on a great start to the season.. Get those greyhounds! :ylsuper:

I believe the roster they had listed was last year's. Some of the names didn't match up to the pictures. It had Buckler as a Sophomore.

I found it impressive that Bellevue and their new defense was able to hold Newport to only 6 points and managed to get at least 4 turnovers (that I can remember). Good job to the D. Coordinator and the leader of the defense Travis Lyvers

I did not think the defense was that impressive. Newport put together a lond TD drive and had another stopped inside the 5. Seems they still have a long way to go IMO. :sleep:
