I'm sorry TB&G, I'm not trying to flippant with you. This is really how I feel. We need to prosecute to the hilt when a gun is used in a violent crime. We need to stop blaming the gun and start blaming the criminal. We need to punish the perpetrator, not the victim or the gun.

It depends on you and how many rounds the clip holds. It will fire as fast as you can pull the trigger.

That is a perfect example of "blaming the victim". Some women are actually are in love with these men that beat them. Some of them are "trapped" in that relationship. Whether it be because of kids, money, or no where else to go...it can be very hard for them to get out.

What I'm saying is that sometimes the hitting doesn't start until after the marriage, when it is much harder to get out.

On the first quote...give me a personal example of a semi-auto that you own. How many rounds does it hold? How fast can you get a clip off? I would LOVE to come up when you all do the BGP shoot...as long as it doesn't interfere with football season!

 

On the second...I still have no feel for what you or the staunch NRA advocates believe equates to sensible gun control. Do you believe that ANY person (US citizen) should have the right to own ANY gun? If not, what stipulations should we put on them? I can't agree (or disagree) with you all until I know WHAT it is that you actually believe.

It's nice to flush out the real perspective of the male population. Couldn't ever be, in hundreds of thousands of instances, that the woman didn't know what he was like. It's always the woman's fault. And then, men wonder why women don't leave...who's going to believe them? And, it's their own fault, their partner told them, society tells them....

OK, for instance I have an MAK 90 (an AK 47 variant), it shoots a 7.62x39. I have a 40 round clip and it will fire as quickly as I can pull the trigger each time. I've never timed it, but I wouldn't be surprised if you could empty a 40 round clip in about 10 to 12 seconds if you wanted to. Now if you want to bump fire, well you can fire even faster.

Here's an example of an AK being bump fired by someone that knows how to do it well. This is a 40 round clip.

 

 

On your second question, the Eddie Eagle program for kids is a very good start for our youth. Education and training is always a good start, regardless if your a child or adult, the NRA offers such programs as do other organizations. I think requiring computerized "instant" criminal records checks on purchasers of firearms and those who carry firearms for protection in public is a good thing and I have no problem with it. I don't think anyone should be able to own a gun, such as the mentally ill, convicted felons etc.

What about the three day waiting period to purchase a gun? In your opinion, is that a good idea?

Yep....there is always a real need for a law abiding citizen to own a full auto mack, a couple of ozzies, some handgernades and an anti aircraft gun.

That is exactly what has happened in the UK. Deaths by stabbing have soared since guns were banned and liberals have responded with knife regulations.

The Eddie Eagle program is a very good thing. As you said, the NRA has several programs that are always stressing safety and education on firearms. As for the bolded, I certainly agree with that as well.

I will also say that there are certainly a few on here that coud stand a course ....or two...... or three about gun education bc they have no clue as to what is going on.

:thumb: I know, people would think that you are crazy for saying that as well but if they look up crime rates at some of these places that have complete gun bans they would find a shocking statistic that crime in most all cases has risen.

The only people that gun control and gun bans help is the criminals. They now that anyone that abides by the law will not ave gun and they are safe to break in, take what they want or in some cases worse, like "have their way" with them or family members.

That is why they are called criminals....they do things that are aganst the law :eek:, like obtain a gun/guns illegally. Who knew a criminal would get a gun "against the law" Hello!!:confused::lol:.............."you just can't fix stupid"
