I played at GC, and I am the team doctor for Greenup and Raceland. I am on the sidelines with Raceland, but I will always root for the alma mater. As for the "big brother........" comment. I'm not sure that warrants response. This is getting a little towards jabs instead of predictions.

Looks like the weather may be better than expected. I'm not seeing anything on the radar. So if a shower does pop up it should be a quick one. Temps should be lower than last year, so hopefully cramps will be minimized.

Other than their inner squad scrimmage, the only other time you could have seen Greenup play is the Ironton scrimmage. That was not very impressive. Although the more I think about it, the closer I think this game will be.

A WAR? NO. A tight game? I hope so. I for one hope Greenup does well. I don't think they will win but what do I know?

I was there 30+ years ago for whatever that matters, that is what makes history, not just in the last few years . Raceland/Russell was a rivalry then, now and always will be as long as the two play in any sport and probably even when they don't. The two have just last season renewed the football game but the two play in other sports as well, both boys and girls sports.

 

I respect Coach McGlone and the Russell program, I honestly do. Russell has a great football program and tradition that deserves respect. I just want to beat them and for most all others to beat them as well :lol:.

I certainly can't speak for everyone but I know that others down here that feel the same way, it has been that way on both sides for waaaaaaaay over 30 years and I don't think it will change. I am also pretty sure that there are quite a few Russell fans think the same about Raceland whether or not they will say it or not .

 

Anyway, I don't have a problem with it. :thumb:

 

I apologize for getting off the topic of the Russell/GCHS game. I will talk Raceland/Russell in the week before the game between the two. As for this thread/game......like I said, imo Russell will win and probabably by a pretty good margin. I am just pulling for GCHS.
